Aegislash uses the Stance Change Ability, an Ability that changes its form depending on how it is battling. When it uses Physical or Special Attacks, it changes into Blade Forme; when it uses King's Shield or switches out, it changes into Shield Forme.
Aegislash is in the Mineral Egg Group. It takes Aegislash One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Aegislash takes on the appearance of a golden sword. It has two black arms that extend from the sides of the hilt, and colored purple at the tips. These two arms are folded behind the shield, which is in front of its main body in its Shield Forme.
In its Blade Forme, the shield is held by one of its arms while the other arm is at rest.
Aegislash doesn't have any visible differences to differentiate between male and female.

Aegislash currently resides in the Ubers tier. In Ubers, Aegislash is not the dominant force it was in OU, but can still function well with correct support. Despite its titanic offenses, Aegislash struggles to set-up in a metagame in which there are strong hard-hitting Pokemon, and when some of the biggest threats in Ho-Oh, Yveltal, and Primal Groudon can switch into it with impunity, it is less than stellar. Aegislash is therefore reglated to a more defensive role, and has a significant niche in being one of the most solid Xerneas counters in the metagame along with being capable of Pursuit trapping Latios and Latias. Aegislash also has a distinction of being one of few defensive Pokemon that can escape from Mega Gengar by virtue of its Ghost-typing, which makes it less vulnerable to being taken out than other solid Xerneas counters.
