[edit] Game Information
[edit] Original Games
Ampharos was introduced in the Second Generation of Pokémon. Jasmine tends to an Ampharos that is ill in the Olivine Lighthouse. To obtain an Ampharos you'll have to evolve Flaaffy.
[edit] Spin-off Games
Ampharos can be obtained in Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, but to obtain one in either game you'll have to purify Flaaffy and Mareep in each respective game and evolve each Pokémon.
Ampharos appears at Endless Level 10, Forever Level 5 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.
Ampharos can only be obtained by evolving Flaaffy in the first round of Mystery Dungeon games. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Ampharos appears at Amp Plains I6F-I9F and Landslide Cave B1-B12. Ampharos is exclusive to Light Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Light Summit 21F-29F and the following Floors on Legendary Mountains: 26 & 27, 29, 33, 36, 41 & 42, 44 & 45 and 48 & 49.
Ampharos can be found within the Altru Building and Altru Tower in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. Ampharos appears within the 5th Trial room in Rasp Cavern, the west cave on the second floor of Mt. Layuda, and in the upper levels of the Oblivia Region Sky Fortress during the Present Era in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs. In the past, Ampharos can be obtained in the Ice Temple missions "Round and Round! Find the Floor" and "Rush Ahead! Don't Look Back!" by defeating it or another Pokémon in its evolution line and obtaining a Slate. Whether that slate is for Ampharos or not won't be known until after defeating either level's Boss.

[edit] Movies
Ampharos has yet to appear in any of the films as of writing.
[edit] Manga
In Pokémon Adventures Jasmine has a Ampharos that was rescued with her from the Bell Tower by Gold and Silver.
[edit] Pokémon Information
[edit] Competitive Battling
Ampharos finds itself in the Never-Utilized and Rarely-Utilized Tiers of Competitive Battling. Ampharos isn't the typical Electric-Type as it doesn't have either low Defenses or high Speed. It doesn't have a real recovery move outside of Rest, which means it can still be worn down.
