Archen evolve into Archeops starting at Level 37.
Archeops, like its pre-evolved form, are both based on the ancient bird, Archaeopteryx.
Archeops doesn't have any differences to differentiate between male and female.
In all of its game appearances, the only way to obtain Archeops is to evolve an Archen.
Archeops appears at World Axle Treetops B2 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.
Trading Card Game
Archeops is listed as a Rare Card in the Noble Victories set, and as a Hidden Ultra Rare Card in the Dark Explorers set.
After evolving from an Archen during the episode Archeops in the Modern World, Team Rocket would try to capture it, only for Archeops to escape their electrical net by using Dragonbreath. Wild Archeops would also appear in two episodes that take place at Twist Mountain.
Wild Archeops appear in the Black version of Pokémon Movie 14.
Archeops' Manga Information is unknown as of writing.
Archeops is in the Neverused (NU) tier of competitive battling. With amazing offensive stats and a great Speed stat, Archeops is one of the tier's best offensive threats. It has a great offensive movepool to work with which allows for it to break through certain counters. STAB Acrobatics is the most notable of the bunch, giving Archeops a powerful STAB attack to work with at the cost of not using an item. It also has numerous other attacks to work with in STAB Stone Edge and Earth Power to smack around certain physically defensive Pokémon harder. Its typing is decent defensively, giving it some useful resistances to Normal, Bug, Fire, and Flying, allowing it to deviate from the normal offensive set and run a more supportive bulky set with Defog, Taunt, and Roost. A suicide lead set is another set that Archeops can run, having Stealth Rock to support a team while using moves like Taunt, Endeavor, and Head Smash to ensure that an entry hazard remover will not be able to get by too easily. However, Archeops has an awful ability in Defeatist, which lowers its attacking stats and renders it nearly useless as a result if it cannot Roost off the damage. Stealth Rock and mediocre bulk do not help Archeops's longevity, as it can be weakened by taking 25% off its health and can be hit hard by various attacks. Rhydon, Steelix, and Regirock are all prominent Pokémon that can take on Archeops without too much trouble, giving it fits if it does not run the appropriate coverage move.
Archeops is also usable in the Rarelyused (RU) tier of competitive battling. With a great Speed tier and access to moves like Stealth Rock, Taunt, and Endeavor, Archeops makes for an ideal suicide lead for hyper offense teams. It outspeeds many Taunt and Defog users, allowing for it to shut them down and prevent them from removing entry hazards from the field. It can also use Taunt and Endeavor to deal with stall teams, as it can weaken a foe quite a bit when at low health. Archeops does suffer from a bad defensive typing and awful ability in Defeatist, rendering a lot of other sets it could run unviable.
