Azelf (Sinnoh Pokédex. It is a Psychic-Type, and is known as the Willpower Pokémon.) is the 148th Pokémon in the
Azelf doesn't evolve and doesn't have a pre-evolved form.
Azelf takes on the appearance of a blue, floating fairy. It has a red gem on its forehead, and two, smaller red gems with one on each of its tails.
Azelf is a Genderless Pokémon Species.
In Black 2 and White 2, after defeating the Elite Four and visiting the Cave of Being, Azelf can be found on the Western end of Route 23. The exact spot in which it will appear is near an Item Ball in a part of the route that requires Strength to reach said Item Ball.
Azelf can be found at the Crystal Lake section of Crystal Crossing in Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, but it can only be obtained after the Credits roll. Azelf is exclusive to Stormy Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Jade Lake B12, but a Secret Slab or Enigma Part is required in order to find it.
After meeting ten people, Azelf can be found at Shimmering Lake Lake in Pokémon Rumble Blast.
Trading Card Game
Azelf is listed as a Rare Card in the Mysterious Treasures and Legends Awakened sets. A second Azelf is listed in the Legends Awakened set, but this is an Ultra Rare Lv. X Azelf card.
Ash would notice Azelf's spiritual form in Pruning a Passel of Pals!. Along with Mesprit and Uxie, Azelf would have major appearances in Unlocking the Red Chain of Events!, The Needs of Three and The Battle Finale of Legend!, which is the three-part miniseries that features Team Galactic reviving-and attempting to control-Dialga and Palkia.
While Azelf has yet to appear in any of the films Azelf makes an appearance in the Pikachu Short "Pikachu's Really Mysterious Adventure.
Pearl would be sent to protect Azelf from Team Galactic. While Pearl wouldn't be able to prevent Azelf's capture, he would reunite with Dia and Lady Platinum Berlitz to free Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit from the clutches of Team Galactic.
Azelf is in the Overused (OU) tier of competitive battling. With Stealth Rock and a good 115 base Speed, Azelf is capable of nearly guaranteeing a layer of entry hazards for its team. Explosion and Taunt can prevent entry hazard removers from getting rid of Stealth Rock, while access to Skill Swap allows for Azelf to circumvent Magic Bounce users like Mega Sableye and Mega Diancie. However, while Azelf makes for a great suicide lead, its frailty leads to it getting picked off easily after being knocked down to its Focus Sash. If the opponent gets one opportunity to Defog hazards away, Azelf's work is all for none. It is also rather predictable in its role, which leads to the opponent picking an anti-lead to take care of Azelf.
Azelf cannot learn any moves by way of Breeding.
