Banette (ジュペッタ) is the 147th Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex. It is a Ghost type, and is known as the Marionette Pokémon.
Banette's only Ability in Generation III is the Insomnia Ability, which prevents it from falling asleep from moves such as Spore, Yawn or Rest, which also makes Snore and Sleep Talk useless. Banette received a second Ability in Generation IV, the Frisk Ability, which reveals what the opposing Pokémon is using for a held item (if any). A third Ability is available to Banette from the Dream World, the Cursed Body Ability. This Ability has a 30% chance of Disabling an attack that hits the user of this Ability.
Shuppet can evolve into Banette starting at Level 37.
Banette is in the Amorphous Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 6,400 Steps to hatch. It takes Banette 800,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Manga

[edit] Pokémon Information
[edit] Competitive Battling
Banette finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling. While it has a considerably high Attack, the rest of its Statistics are mired in the realm of being sub-par. The best thing that it does well is serve as a lead that sets up Trick Room, but this leaves it vulnerable to getting hit with Taunt, shutting down its attempt at Trick Room and other Status Attacks. Its bulk (or lack thereof) can really let it down.
