Barboach (ドジョッチ) is the 127th Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex. It is a Water/Ground-Type, and it is known as the Whiskers Pokémon.
Barboach's Ability when it was introduced in Generation III is Oblivious. This Ability prevents it from becoming Infatuated with an opposing Pokémon of the opposite gender. Its second Ability was introduced in Generation IV, the Anticipation Ability, which alerts itself to when the opponent knows an attack that will be Super-Effective against it, or if the foe knows one of the four One-Hit KO moves. A third Ability is available to Barboach from the Dream World, the Hydration Ability. This Ability heals all Status problems when it is raining.
Barboach gain the opportunity to evolve into Whiscash once it reaches Level 30.
Barboach is listed in the Water 2 Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Whiscash One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Another trainer's Barboach was part of a Water Pokémon show in the episode The Great Eight Fate!, a show that took place at an outdoor amphitheater.
