Bellsprout (マダツボミ) is the 69th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Grass/Poison-Type, and is known as the Flower Pokémon.

Bellsprout uses the Chlorophyll Ability, which doubles its Speed during periods of strong sunlight. Its Hidden Ability is Gluttony, which allows it to consume its held Berry sooner than normal due to HP loss.

Bellsprout gain the opportunity to evolve into Weepinbell starting at Level 21, and can evolve a second time into Victreebel by using a Leaf Stone.

Bellsprout is in the Grass Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Bellsprout 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Bellsprout has a yellow head that supposedly represents a bell. It has a large round mouth and tiny eyes. Bellsprout's body is a stem and the roots at the bottom are its feet. It has two large green leaves that are like arms.

Bellsprout doesn't have any visible differences to differentiate between male and female.

Original Games

Bellsprout can be found on Routes 12-15, 24 & 25 in Blue and Yellow. Bellsprout can also appear on Routes 5, 6 and 7 in Blue.

Bellsprout can be found at Routes 5, 6, 24, 25, 31, 32, 36 & 44 in Gold, Silver and Crystal].

Bellsprout is exclusive to Leaf Green in the Generation III remakes, appearing on Routes 5-7, 12-15, 24 and 25, along with Berry Forest, Bond Bridge, Cape Brink and Water Path.

Bellsprout can be found at Route 230 in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. Bellsprout can also appear on Route 229 in Diamond and Pearl, and Route 224 in Platinum. In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Bellsprout can be found on Routes 5, 6, 24, 25, 31, 32 & 44, along with the Safari Zone's Forest area throughout the day, and the Wasteland area after placing 3 Forest Objects in the area, and can also be obtained on the Pokéwalker course Noisy Forest.

Bellsprout can be found at White Forest in Pokémon White. In Pokémon X and Y, it can be caught in the wild at Route 14 in a Horde battle.

In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Bellsprout can be caught on Route 5 by using the Island Scan feature of the QR Scanner on Akala Island on a Friday.

Spin-Off Games

Bellsprout makes appearances at Huge Storage 1, Endless Level 6, Forever Level 6 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.

Bellsprout can be found at Wish Cave 1F-3F in the first set of Mystery Dungeon games. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Bellsprout can be found at Mystery Jungle B1-B29, Mystifying Forest B1-B13 and Midnight Forest B1-B12. Mystifying Forest and Midnight Forest are known as Mystic Forest and Dark Night Forest respectively in Explorers of Sky, but the floor ranges are the same. Bellsprout is exclusive to Light Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Dubious Valley 1F-6F and Final Cave 1F-3F.

Bellsprout can be found at Lila Forest and Croca Tunnel in Pokémon Ranger, its lone appearance in the Pokémon Ranger series as of writing.

Bellsprout can be found at Sun-Dappled Bank Treetops 2-1 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

Bellsprout is listed in eight different sets. It is listed as a Common Card in the Jungle, Gym Heroes (2), Aquapolis, EX FireRed and LeafGreen, EX Legend Maker, Legends Awakened and Triumphant sets; and as an Uncommon Card in the Aquapolis set.

Anime/Manga Information

Anime

Ash would go up against a very tough Bellsprout in The Fourth Round Rumble, his matchup against Jeanette Fischer from Crimson City. It would defeat both Bulbasaur and Pikachu before being defeated by Muk.

A kid named Zackie wanted to catch Pikachu, but the Poké Ball that he took from Ash and used hit a Bellsprout instead in A Bout With Sprout. Old Man Shuckle uses his Bellsprout to gather ingredients to create various medicines in A Better Pill to Swallow.

Movies

Another trainer uses a Bellsprout in Mewtwo Strikes Back and Arceus and the Jewel of Life. Wild Bellsprout make appearances in Celebi: Voice of the Forest, Destiny Deoxys and Zoroark: Master of Illusions, along with the Pikachu Shorts "Pikachu's Vacation," "Pikachu's Rescue Adventure," "Pikachu & Pichu" and "Pikachu's Summer Festival."

Manga

Erika uses a Bellsprout to battle against challengers at Celadon City Pokémon Gym in Chapter 20. Red would capture a number of Bellsprout at the Kanto Safari Zone in Chapter 22.

A number of Sages use a Bellsprout in Chapter 97, which takes place at Sprout Tower.
