In the Sixth Generation, Bisharp resides in the Overused (OU) tier. Bisharp is one of the most notable threats in the Overused tier with its strong STABs in Knock Off, Sucker Punch, and Iron Head that make it hard to switch into. Bisharp also can punish Defog users courtesy of its ability Defiant, which gives it a +2 Attack boost if its stat is lowered. It can act as a set up sweeper with Swords Dance, which if in conjunction with a potential attack boost thanks to Defiant, would put huge offensive pressure on opposing teams. Bisharp can also be a Pursuit trapper to more easily get rid of troublesome Pokemon like Latios and Latias. Bisharp is far from flawless though as it has a huge Fighting weakness, below average Speed, and a reliance on Sucker Punch to hit faster threats, leading to 50-50 situations.
