Breloom (リザードン) is the 35th Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex. It is a Grass/Fighting Type, and it is known as the Mushroom Pokémon.
When it was introduced in Generation III, Breloom had only one Ability, called Effect Spore, an ability that has a 10% of afflicting an opponent with either Paralysis, Poison, or Sleep when it is hit by a move that requires physical contact against it. A second ability was added to Breloom in Generation IV, the Poison Heal Ability. This ability restores its HP every turn that is Poisoned.
A third ability was added to Breloom from the Dream World in Generation V, the Technician Ability. This ability applies to attacks that have a Base Power less than or equal to 60, as those moves have their base power increased by 50% with this ability.
Shroomish can evolve into Breloom starting at Level 23.
Breloom is in the Egg Groups Fairy and Grass, and its Egg takes approximately 3,840 Steps to hatch. It takes Breloom 1,640,000 Experience Points at the most to reach Level 100.

[edit] Anime/Manga Information
[edit] Anime
A Wild Breloom went one-on-one with May's recently-evolved Combusken in the episode A Shroomish Skirmish. Frontier Brain Noland also has a Breloom that Ash could have gone against in the episode Numero Uno Articuno, but instead opted to face Noland's Articuno using his Charizard.
Dawn's childhood friend Kenny used a Breloom in the episodes Journey to the Unown and Team Shocker!, the latter of which was the Solaceon Pokémon Contest.
[edit] Movies
Another trainer used a Breloom in the film Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, and Wild Breloom appeared in the films Giratina and the Sky Warrior and Zoroark: Master of Illusions.

[edit] Pokémon Information
[edit] Competitive Battling
Breloom was listed in the OU, or Over-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling as of Generation IV. As Generation V went by, Breloom was put into the OU tier again. In the Pokemon Black and White era, it was very similar to it's Generation IV counterpart, with the exception of an added counter in Gliscor and a Bulk Up set. When Pokemon Black and White 2 came out, Breloom obtained it's Dream World ability in Technician, which made him an absolute powerhouse offensively. Moves like Mach Punch, Low Sweep, and Bullet Seed became Breloom's most common moves. Breloom also can get around its usual counters with the use of Spore, a 100% accurate sleep move that can devastate the counter and help Breloom wreck havoc even more.
