Burmy uses the Shed Skin Ability. This Ability gives it a 1 in 3 chance of healing itself from a Status Condition every turn that it is afflicted with one. A second Ability is available to Burmy from the Dream World, the Overcoat Ability. This Ability protects it from the damaging effects of the weather conditions Sandstorm and Hail.
Burmy gain the opportunity to evolve at Level 20, but what it evolves into depends on its gender. Gender Differences
Burmy has no gender differences, however its two evolutions, Mothim and Wormadam, are completely different Pokémon.
 Form Differences
Burmy will change forms depending on the area that it just battled in. If it battled in a Forest or in a Field it will don a Plant Cloak, in which Burmy will be covered with leaves. A Burmy that has battled in a cave or on a rocky environment will don a Sandy Cloak, a form in which Burmy is covered in sand, and its feet aren't protruding from the cloak. A Burmy that has battled in an urban environment or a building takes on a Trash Cloak, a form that has Burmy covered in a pink cloak made up of garbage.
