Cascoon (マユルド) is the 17th Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex. It is a Bug Type, and is classified as a Cocoon Pokémon.

Cascoon-just like Silcoon-uses the Shed Skin Ability. This Ability gives it a 1 in 3 chance of healing from one of the five major Status Conditions every turn.

Wurmple evolve into Cascoon when they reach Level 7 with a Personality Value greater than or equal to 5. Cascoon gain the opportunity to evolve into Dustox when it reaches Level 10.

Cascoon is in the Bug Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 3,840 Steps to hatch. It takes Cascoon One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Cascoon takes the appearance of a purple-colred cocoon with multiple spikes and two eyes at the center of its body.

Original Games

Cascoon can be found at Petalbuerg Woods in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

Cascoon appears at Eterna Forest in both Pearl and Platinum. Cascoon also appears at the Honey Trees in Pearl only, and appears at the North end of Route 205 in Platinum only.

Cascoon appears during the National Park's Bug Catching Contest on Saturday in Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

Spin-off Games

Cascoon appears at Secret Storage 11, Endless Level 10, Forever Level 10 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.

Cascoon appears at Sinister Woods 4F-6F in the first Mystery Dungeon game, along with Murky Cave on floors 1, 2, 5, 7-9, and 11. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Cascoon appears at Mt. Horn on floors 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10 & 12-14; Mystery Jungle B1-B29, and Lush Meadow 1F-5F.

Cascoon appears in all three versions of Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing in each respective games' Mystery-named area 6F-9F and each respective games' Final-named area 7F-9F.

Cascoon has yet to make an appearance in the Pokémon Ranger series.

Cascoon can be found at Challengers' Ground Forest 1-4 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

Jessie's Wurmple evolved into a Cascoon in the episode A Corphish Out Of Water! It would appear only twice more before evolving in the episode Seeing is Believing!

Another trainer used a Cascoon at the Hoenn Grand Festival.

III Ruby Cascoon makes its protective cocoon by wrapping its body entrely with a fine silk from its mouth. Once the silk goes around its body, it hardens. This Pokémon prepares for its evolution inside the cocoon.
Sapphire If it is attacked, Cascoon remains motionless however badly it may be hurt. It does so because if it were to move, its body would be weak upon evolution. This Pokémon will also not forget the pain it endured.
Emerald To avoid detection by its enemies, it hides motionlessly beneath large leaves and in the gaps of branches. It also attaches dead leaves to its body for camoufalge.
FireRed Its body, which is made of soft silk, hardens over time. When cracks appear, evolution is near.
LeafGreen Its body, which is made of soft silk, hardens over time. When cracks appear, evolution is near.
IV Diamond It is hot inside its cocoon. All the cells in its body create the energy for it to evolve.
