Chansey (Normal-Type, and is known as the Egg Pokémon.) is the 113th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a
Chansey can use one of two Abilities: Natural Cure, which heals any major status conditions when it is withdrawn from battle; or Serene Grace, which doubles the chances of a move having its secondary effect activate. Its Hidden Ability is Healer, which has a 30% chance of an Allied Pokémon that is in battle being healed from a Status Condition.
Happiny can evolve into Chansey if it Levels Up while holding an Oval Stone, and can evolve into a Blissey by gaining a high enough level of happiness and leveling up. Chansey's evolved form was introduced in Generation II, while its pre-evolved form wouldn't be introduced until Generation IV.
Chansey is in the Fairy Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 10,240 Steps to hatch. A Happiny Egg can be bred if a Chansey or Blissey is holding a Luck Incense while breeding, an Egg that also takes approximately 10,240 Steps to hatch. It takes Chansey 800,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Chansey takes on the form of a pink egg with a short tail and short, stubby limbs. It also carries an egg in her pouch, which is on its stomach.
Chansey is a Female Pokémon species.
Chansey appears at Routes 209 and the South end of Route 210, along with the Trophy Garden as a Daily Pokémon in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Chansey appears on Routes 13, 14, and 15, along with the Safari Zone's Meadow area after placing 12 Plains objects in the area.
Chansey appears at Secret Storage 15, Endless Level 18, Forever Level 18 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.
Chansey appears at Joyous Tower on floors 50, 60 and 77 in the first set of Mystery Dungeon games. In Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, Chansey appears at Happy Outlook B1-B19, and Joy Cape B1-B19 in Explorers of Sky. Chansey is exclusive to Blazing Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Chocolate Mountain 13F-19F.

Trading Card Game
Chansey has appeared in multiple sets with varying rarities, being listed as a Common Card in the Aquapolis, Mysterious Treasures, Platinum, Heart Gold/Soul Silver and Dark Explorers (2) sets, as an Uncommon Card in the Neo Destiny and Expedition sets, and as a Rare Card in the Base, EX Ruby and Sapphire (EX Card), EX Fire Red and Leaf Green and EX Unseen Forces sets.
Chansey also appears in the first two entries in the Super Smash Bros. series. In Super Smash Bros., it could appear out of a Poké Ball and drop three Eggs, or drop a single egg outside the doorway on the Saffron City stage. These Eggs are used as Item Capsules and can be thrown at an opponent.
Chansey appears out a Poké Ball in Super Smash Bros. Melee as well, dropping multiple Eggs. This time, some of the Eggs can restore the fighter's health or be thrown at an opponent, as some of the Eggs that can be thrown explode.
Before the Anime shifted to the Unova region, a Chansey would commonly appear in any episode that featured a Pokémon Center alongside a Nurse Joy, starting with the episode Pokémon Emergency. However, Brock would obtain a Chansey of his own after his Happiny evolved during the episode The Brockster Is In.
The combination of Nurse Joy and Chansey appear in the films The Rise of Darkrai and Giratina and the Sky Warrior. A Wild Chansey appears in the film The Power of One and the Pikachu Shorts "Pikachu's Vacation" and "Pikachu's Rescue Adventure."
Chansey's Manga Information is unknown as of writing.
Chansey resides in the Overused (OU) tier of competitive battling. Thanks to its huge 250 base HP and access to Eviolite, Chansey is a premier special wall that can tank physical attacks unlike her sister Blissey. This astronomical bulk makes Chansey a staple on defensive teams along with the fact that it can act as a status sponge thanks to Natural Cure and heal up teammates with its humongous Wishes. Seismic Toss and Toxic prevent Chansey from being easy set-up bait. Despite this, Chansey is still shut down rather easily by Taunt and lacks useful resistances due to its Normal-typing. Since it cannot hold Leftovers, it is prone to being worn down by entry hazards. Chansey also struggles without its Eviolite if hit by Knock Off or hit by Trick.
Chansey is also a viable option in the Uber tier of competitive battling. With the decline of usage of Pokémon that trouble Chansey greatly, such as Gothitelle and Taunt Mega Gengar, Chansey has found itself a viable niche due to its tremendous bulk over its evolution Blissey thanks to Eviolite. While Mega Gengar can technically still eliminate Chansey through PP stall even if it does not run Taunt, Chansey can usually paralyze it with Thunder Wave and cripple it from doing too much damage. It fits well on balance builds due to its massive special bulk and ability to spread status ailments, and it has enough physical bulk to tank some weaker hits. However, Chansey is extremely passive, only being able to attack through Seismic Toss. Threatening physical attackers like Primal Groudon and Ho-oh can easily take advantage of Chansey's lower Defense stat. Blissey ends up being a better option than Chansey on stall teams due to it using Wish and Snatch much better while having room for Heal Bell, so while Chansey may have superior overall bulk, it is ultimately outclassed on defensive builds and only has an advantage on balance. Chansey is also vulnerable to all forms of entry hazards and needs a fair amount of support to do its job well.
