Cleffa (ピィ) is the 40th Pokémon in the Johto Pokédex. It is a Normal-Type, and is known as the Star Shape Pokémon.
Cleffa can use one of two Abilities: Cute Charm, which has a 30% chance of leaving its opponent Infatuated if the opponent uses an attack that requires physical contact against it, and is of the opposite gender, and outside of battle, increases the chances of finding Pokémon of the opposite gender in the area if Cleffa is at the front of the player's party; or Magic Guard, which protects it from taking indirect damage, such as Sandstorm, Toxic,Spikes and recoil from moves like Double-Edge and items like Life Orb. A third Ability is available to Cleffa from the Dream World, the Friend Guard Ability, which reduces the damage its Allies takes by 25%.
Cleffa gain the opportunity to evolve into Clefairy through High Happiness and Levels Up. It can evolve a second time into Clefable by using a Moon Stone on it.
Cleffa is in the Undiscovered Egg Group; while it cannot breed, an Egg bred by Clefairy will hatch after approximately 2,560 Steps. It takes Cleffa 800,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.
