Conkeldurr (ローブシン) is the 40th Pokémon in the Unova Pokédex. It is a Fighting Type, and it is known as the Muscular Pokémon.

Conkeldurr's two abilities are Guts, which increases the Attack stat 1.5 times when the Pokémon is afflicted with a Burn, Paralysis, Sleep, Poison, or Freeze, ignoring Burn's effect of lowering the Attack stat; and Sheer Force, which increases the power of all moves that have a secondary effect by 33%, but at the expense of said attacks losing their secondary effect. Conkeldurr's Hidden Ability is the Iron Fist Ability. This Ability increases the base power of all its punching-based moves by 20%

Gurdurr evolved from Timburr when it reached Level 25. Gurdurr can only evolve into Conkeldurr when traded to another game.

Conkeldurr is in the Human-Like Egg Group, and its Egg will take approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Conkeldurr 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Pokémon Information

Competitive Battling

Conkeldurr is a part of the Underused (UU) tier of competitive battling. Conkeldurr can threaten a large amount of the tier due to its high base 145 Attack and above-average bulk that allows for it to switch into a decent number of Pokémon. It has some great abilities in Guts and Iron Fist, with the former allowing for Conkeldurr to act as a status sponge and the latter boosting Conkeldurr's STAB attacks like Hammer Arm and Mach Punch. Access to priority allows for Conkeldurr to set itself apart from many of the other Fighting-types in the tier, as a Mach Punch can do decent damage to faster threats like Mega Sharpedo and Cobalion. Its best set is an Assault Vest set that bolsters Conkeldurr's special bulk to allow for it to switch into a plethora of special attacking threats while acting as a status absorber and healing off damage with Drain Punch. A Choice Band set is also usable due to Conkeldurr's massive Attack stat and can function as a great wallbreaker with an Iron Fist boosted Hammer Arm alongside coverage options like Knock Off and Poison Jab. Conkeldurr is a good Bulk Up user as well, being able to take special hits relatively well with investment while being able to dismantle stall cores when it eliminates certain checks like Sylveon. Conkeldurr does have certain flaws though, as it is very slow, has mediocre special bulk without an Assault Vest, and faces competition from the likes of Heracross and Machamp, which both have superior Speed stats and different moves that can be at times more helpful than what Conkeldurr can offer.

Conkeldurr is also viable in the Overused (OU) tier of competitive battling. With a meaty 105 HP stat, decent defenses especially with an Assault Vest, and a great 145 base Attack, Conkeldurr is the definition of a good tank. Two great abilities in Guts and Sheer Force allow for Conkeldurr to act as either a status sponge against Pokémon like Rotom-W, Keldeo, and Gengar or a hard-hitting wallbreaker with boosted coverage moves. Its best set is an Assault Vest set that checks special attacking threats while hitting decently hard with Drain Punch and having good coverage options to hit Pokémon that resist or are immune to Fighting with Knock Off, Ice Punch, or Stone Edge. Another Conkeldurr set is a Sheer Force attacker that hits ruthlessly with Life Orb boosted attacks while having overall strong coverage bolstered by Sheer Force while not having Conkeldurr take Life Orb recoil. However, Conkeldurr is held back immensely by its low Speed stat that leaves it outsped by a huge number of Pokémon in the tier. While having priority in Mach Punch can alleviate this issue somewhat, there are many faster threats that resist or can comfortably tank a priority hit and retaliate brutally. Conkeldurr also lacks great resistances and has common weaknesses to Psychic and Flying attacks, which gives it issues when trying to apply pressure to the opposing team.
