Cubone (カラカラ) is the 104th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Ground-Type, and is known as the Lonely Pokémon.

Cubone can use one of two Abilities; Rock Head, which prevents it from receiving recoil damage, or Lightning Rod, which draws all Electric-Type moves to it, making them do no damage. Its Hidden Ability is Battle Armor, which prevents it from being hit by critical hits.

Cubone gain the opportunity to evolve into Marowak upon reaching Level 28. In the Alola region, Cubone can evolve into Alolan Marowak when it reaches Level 28 during the night.

Cubone is in the Monster Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 steps to hatch. It takes Cubone 1,000,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Physiology

Cubone is a small Pokemon which is well known for the skull feature that it wears over its head. The skull is said to be the skull of its mother and it covers most of Cubone's face, apart from its eye area. This Pokemon is mostly brown, though its belly area is cream-colored. Cubone has small arms and legs. It is always seen holding a piece of bone which is used like a weapon. Its tail is rather short, and is pointed at the end.

Game Information

Original Games

Cubone can be caught in the wild at Pokémon Tower in Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow, as well as the Safari Zone in Yellow. In Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, it can be caught at Rock Tunnel.

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, Cubone can once again be caught at Pokémon Tower, as well as Seavault Canyon. In Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, it can be caught at Route 203 during a Swarm. It once again makes its appearance at Rock Tunnel in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, as well as the Desert area of the Safari Zone.

The only way to obtain Cubone in Pokémon Black and White is to breed a Marowak. In Pokémon X and Y, it can be caught in the wild at Glittering Cave. In Pokémon Sun and Moon, it appears at Wela Volcano Park.
