Delcatty only had the Cute Charm Ability available when it was introduced in Generation III. This Ability causes a Pokémon of the opposite gender that uses an attack that requires physical contact against the Pokémon that has this Ability to become Infatuated 30% of the time. Generation IV added a second Ability to Delcatty, the Normalize Ability, an Ability that turns all moves that it knows into a Normal-Type move regardless of what type it would normally be. Delcatty's Hidden Ability is the Wonder Skin Ability, an Ability that causes moves that only afflict status conditions (such as Confuse Ray or Thunder Wave, for examples) to work only half the time.
Delcatty's appearance is that of an elegant, upper-class feline.
Delcatty doesn't have any differences to differentiate between male and female.
Delcatty appears at Huge Storage 2 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.
Delcatty can only be obtained by evolving a Skitty in the first Mystery Dungeon game. Delcatty appears at Concealed Ruins B10-B15 and World Abyss B8-B15 in Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky. Delcatty is exclusive to Stormy Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3. It can be found on the first ten floors of Chocolate Island.
Delcatty does not appear in any of the games in the Pokémon Ranger series.
Delcatty can be found at Trailhead Field Meadow 1-1 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.
Trading Card Game
Delcatty appears in nine sets and the EX Trainer Kit Latias. Delcatty appears as an Uncommon Card in the EX Ruby and Sapphire, EX Sandstorm, Boundaries Crossed and XY sets. It is listed as a Rare Card in the EX Ruby and Sapphire, EX Legend Maker, EX Crystal Guardians (EX Pokémon), EX Power Keepers, Legends Awakened, and Platinum sets.
Another trainer's Delcatty appears in the film Jirachi Wishmaker, the lone appearance in the movies for Delcatty as of writing.
Delcatty's Manga info is unknown at this time.
Delcatty finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling. None of its Statistics stand out and are below average overall. It does have a decent support movepool, allowing it to serve as a cleric with both Heal Bell and Wish. The Normalize Ability makes all of its moves the Normal-Type, which allows Thunder Wave to afflict Ground-Type Pokémon with Paralysis.
It doesn't take much to stop Delcatty; using Taunt will shut down its support options. All it takes a strong attack to cause a lot of damage to defeat Delcatty, if not cause a One-Hit KO.
