Deoxys (デオキシス) is the 202nd and final Pokémon in the Hoenn Pokédex. It is a Psychic Type, and it is known as the DNA Pokémon.
Deoxys uses the Pressure Ability. This Abillity lowers the PP of an opponent's moves by 2 instead of 1 when it is in battle.
Deoxys does not evolve and does not have a pre-evolved form.
Deoxys is in the Undiscovered Egg Group; like most Legendary Pokémon Deoxys cannot breed. It takes Deoxys 1,250,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Biology
[edit] Physiology
Deoxys takes on four different forms. All four have one common thread: the main body has a meteor-like sphere in its chest and strand-like arms that resemble a strand of DNA.
The Normal Forme has one of its strand-like arms form a hand, while the other flaps more loosely. Its head appears somewhat normal. The twin strands that make up its arms intertwine on each side when it enters its Attack Forme, and its head, torso and legs look more menacing. The Defense Forme sees the twin strands bulk up in mass, along with the rest of Deoxys, a Forme that can withstand more attacks and take more damage. Lastly, the Speed Forme is the slimmest of the four formes, as its arms go down to only one strand each, the rest of its body becomes streamlined, reducing wind resistance to allow it to go faster than its other Formes.
[edit] Gender Differences
Deoxys is a Genderless Pokémon.
[edit] How Deoxys Changes Formes
The form that Deoxys takes depends on the game in Generation III. It takes on its Normal Forme in Ruby and Sapphire, its Attack Forme in Fire Red, its Defense Forme in Leaf Green, and its Speed Forme in Emerald.
A different way for Deoxys to change formes was introduced in Generation IV. In Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, four Meteorites are on the ground in Veilstone City. With Deoxys in your party, check each stone to change Deoxys' Forme. These stones also appear in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, but are located in the southwest corner of Route 3 near Pewter City; these meteorites function the same way as they did in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
A similar meteorite appears at the Nacrene City Museum in Black, White, Black 2 and White 2. Interacting with it will allow Deoxys to change formes.
[edit] Game Information
[edit] Original Games
Like Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi, Deoxys is only available through promotions from Nintendo, Special Events, or as a Wi-Fi Download. In Emerald, Fire Red and Leaf Green, the way to access Deoxys is to find access to Birth Island by way of a special Nintendo Promotion.
In Generation IV, a Deoxys could be obtained by way of a Nintendo Promotion or via Mystery Gift download via Nintendo Wi-Fi.
[edit] Spin-Off Games
The rarity of Deoxys carries over to the Spin-Off games as well, only appearing at Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.
Deoxys can be found on the 20th Floor of Meteor Cave in the first run of Mystery Dungeon games. Deoxys is found on the 23rd Floor of Final Maze in Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness, and Explorers of Sky Deoxys is available on the 17th Floor of Simmer Hill, but a Stone Plate or Mystery Part is required (the items go by the names of Secret Slab or Enigma Part in Explorers of Sky). Deoxys is exclusive to Stormy Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing on the 18th Floor of Mystery Marsh, but as it was in Explorers of Sky before it, a Secret Slab or Enigma Part is required to find it.
Deoxys can appear at Crocoa Tunnel in Pokémon Ranger, but only during an Event Mission. Under normal circumstances Deoxys doesn't appear in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs. But it does appear in an Event Mission, which takes place in the Odd Temple. The mission is titled Deoxys & The Mysterious Temple. While an S Rank is required to get Deoxys, there's one catch: this is a Co-Op Mission, and and the Past Missions don't use Nintendo WiFi--a second player is required at the minimum to activate the double switch in the second room.
Deoxys can be found at any of the "Factory" stages in Pokémon Rumble Blast after completing the game, and any one of Deoxys' formes can appear as well.
[edit] Trading Card Game
Deoxys appears in a total of 18 Sets, the 7th Movie Halfdeck (3), Pokémon Organized Play Series 4 (2 Rare Cards; 1 Delta Species & 1 EX Card), a Pokémon Card Game Promo, the 10th Movie Commemoration Set, and a special Rayquaza and Deoxys Legend Card in the Undaunted Set.
Deoxys is listed as a Rare Card in the EX Deoxys (6; 3 EX Cards), EX Emerald (2; 1 EX Card), EX Holon Phantoms (4 Delta Species Cards), Legends Awakened (4-one for each Forme), and Call of Legends (2; 1 Secret Legend Card) sets.
[edit] Other Appearances
Deoxys is one of the Pokémon that appears from a Poké Ball in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It flies up a short ways before firing a Hyper Beam downward. Any opponents that get caught in this attack get knocked back very far, possibly KO'd.
[edit] Anime/Manga Information
[edit] Anime
Deoxys has only appeared in the Wild thus far in the Anime. Max and Meowth would get captured by a Deoxys in the episode Pokémon Ranger! Deoxys Crisis!, forcing Ash and Solana, a Pokémon Ranger, into action. Pikachu and Piplup would also encounter a Deoxys in the episode Cheers on Castaways Isle!.
[edit] Moves
Deoxys is one of the primary Pokémon in the film Destiny Deoxys, in which it would enrage a Rayquaza as a result of its entry into the atmosphere.
Deoxys also appears in The Rise of Darkrai and Zoroark: Master of Illusions, along with the Pikachu Short Pikachu's Really Mysterious Adventure.
[edit] Manga
Two Deoxys would be stolen from the Mossdeep City Space Center by Team Rocket. The Deoxys known as Individual 2 would escape, but Individual 1 would be captured and used by Team Rocket to ambush the Pokédex Holders from Pallet Town, particularly Red. It worked, and as a result Individual 1 was abandoned.
Individual 1 appears in Chapters 269-271, and appears in a flashback in Chapter 296.
After its capture, Individual 2 would be used by Team Rocket and its leader Giovanni to try and defeat Red, who would partner with Mewtwo for this battle. While Mewtwo won the day, Deoxys would help to stop Team Rocket's Airship from being destroyed mid-air, and would escape the clutches of Team Rocket with Mewtwo's help.
The beam of light that was intended for Deoxys, which exploded as a result of Mewtwo's attempts to counter it, had a side-effect: it left Red, Blue, Yellow, Green and Silver petrified.
This Deoxys would make a number of appearances starting with Chapter 275 and officially concluding with Chapter 302, appearing once more in Chapter 414 in a flashback.
[edit] Pokémon Information
[edit] Competitive Battling
The varying stats and varying movepools that a Deoxys is capable of accessing has it affixed to the Uber Tier. Deoxys-Attack, despite it's awful defensive stats, can outspeed any Pokemon outside of Pokémon that are holding a Choice Scarf and was banned from Overused quickly. Normal Deoxys is in the same boat, but in the Uber tier, Normal Deoxys is outclassed by its other forms. Deoxys-Speed was commonly seen as a very versatile Pokemon in general when it came to Overused, and it's immense support options made other teams struggle, so it was banned to the Uber tier as well. Deoxys-Defense also got kicked to the Uber Tier due to its high Defenses and great support movepool, but its HP and Offensive Statistics aren't very high. Despite these flaws, Deoxys-Defense can tank many hits and set up entry hazards, so it was considered to be a staple of hyper-offensive teams in the Overused tier, in which it was deemed broken and contributed to its departure from the Overused tier.
