Dewott (フタチマル) is the 8th Pokémon in the Unova Pokédex. It is a Water Type, and it is known as the Discipline Pokémon.

Dewott uses the Torrent Ability. When this Pokémon's HP falls below one-third of its maximum, the power of its Water-Type attacks increases by 50%. A second Ability is available to Dewott that come from the Dream World, the Shell Armor Ability. A Dewott with this Ability cannot take a Critical Hit.

Oshawott can evolve into Dewott at Level 17, and can evolve into Samurott starting at Level 36.

Dewott is in the Field Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Dewott 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Dewott takes on the appearance of an otter with detachable conch shell blades that hang from its thighs, which it will occasionally use as weapons in battle.

Dewott can only be obtained by evolving Oshawott in Black, White, Black 2 and White 2.

In PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, Dewott will appear in Cove Town's Cove Area after befriending [[Pansage], Pansear and Panpour. You can befriend Dewott by battling an Oshawott, after which you'll be able to call it into battle.

Dewott first appeared in episode 19 of the Pokémon anime. It belongs to Cilan's rival, Burgundy, and was seen battling Cilan's Dwebble in the Striaton City Gym, though it lost in the end.

Dewott also appeared in episode 4 of Pokémon Best Wishes where it was seen battling another trainer's Servine, before challenging Ash's Pikachu.
