The Dream World is accessible though the Dream Smoke by going into the bed of Fennel's Lab in Striaton City. Musharna with then allow you to use the Dream Smoke and the player can then synchronise with their Global Link account. There are several aspects of the Dream World that the player can utilise, such as Pokémon that cannot be found naturally around Isshu.
To fully access the Dream World, you must sync your copy of Pokémon Black or Pokémon White to your Global Link account.

[edit] Pokémon Play
Whilst you are in the Dream World, you'll find many Pokémon that are not native to Isshu, meaning most of them are from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn or Sinnoh. After you befriend them, you will find them in various areas around Isshu. They can be caught with great ease from there.
[edit] Berry Growing
Isshu is the only region where berries will not be found. However, the games have berries. In order to get them, you must use the Dream World. Berry Growing is done in a similar manner to the previous games (Generations 1-4). Once they have grown, you can transfer them to a copy of Black or White.

While playing a game in the Dream World, you may find an item. There are shelves here that will allow the player to hold the items, and to trade them with friends. At ANY point during a game, you can resync and go to the area in Isshu where your items are being held. You can claim them there.
[edit] House Decorating
In the Dream World, Pokémon have their own houses! This house can be found on an island floating in the sky, and can be decorated using any available decorations. In addition to this feature, you are able to link your house up with a friends, and your Pokémon can play with theirs! This connection is the only way to trade items with friends while you are in the Dream World.

Many of the Pokémon found in the Dream World do not have abilities that they would normally have in the previous games. For example, Vaporeon has Hydration, and Glaceon has Ice Body.
