When a Pokémon with Drought is sent on to the battlefield, it automatically summons intense sunlight. This effect can only be ended by introducing a Pokémon with the ability Drizzle, Sand Stream, or Snow Warning to change the weather, introducing a Pokémon with a weather-nullifying Ability such as Cloud Nine or Air Lock to cancel out the effects of the weather conditions, or by using the moves Rain Dance, Sandstorm or Hail to change the weather.
Starting in Generation VI the effects of Drought last for five turns.
Drought doesn't have an effect in the Overworld.
