Ekans (アーボ) is the 23rd Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Poison Type, and is known as the Snake Pokémon.
Ekans can have one of two abilities: Intimidate, which lowers the opponent's Attack Statistic by one stage; or Shed Skin, which gives this Pokémon a 1 in 3 chance of recovering from a status condition [Burn, Paralyze, Sleep, Freeze, or Poison, the last of which Ekans is immune to] each turn. A third Ability is available to Ekans from the Dream World, the Unnerve Ability, which prevents the opposing Pokémon from using their held Berry while the Pokémon with the Unnerve ability is in battle.
Ekans gains the opportunity to evolve into Arbok starting at Level 22.
Ekans is in the Egg groups Field and Dragon, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 steps to hatch. It takes Ekans One Million Experience Points to reach level 100.
