Elekid (エレキッド) is the 156th Pokémon in the Johto Pokédex. It is an Electric-Type, and is known as the Electric Pokémon.
Elekid uses the Static Ability, an Ability that has a 30% chance of afflicting an opponent with Paralysis if it uses a move that requires physical contact. A second Ability is available to Elekid from the Dream World, the Vital Spirit Ability. This Ability gives it an immunity to the Sleep Status Condition.
Elekid gain the opportunity to evolve into Electabuzz starting at Level 30, and starting in Generation IV, can evolve into Electivire if it is traded while holding an Electirizer.
Elekid is in the Undiscovered Egg Group, but an Elekid Egg can be bred from either an Electabuzz or an Electivire, an Egg that takes approximately 6,400 Steps to hatch. It takes Elekid One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Game Information
[edit] Original Games
During the first two Generations that an Elekid could be obtained, the only way to do so is to Breed an Electabuzz. Elekid can be found at the South end of Route 204 and Valley Windworks with Fire Red inserted into the Game Boy Advance slot of the Nintendo DS in Diamond and Pearl. Elekid also appear on the Pokéwalker courses Suburban Area and Amity Meadow, which is the only way to get an Elekid in Heart Gold and Soul Silver outside of Breeding.
Elekid appear at White Forest in Pokémon White, and at Virbank Complex in Pokémon White 2. Elekid also appear on the Dream World course Pleasant Forest after surpassing 10,000 Dream Points.
[edit] Spin-Off Games
An Elekid can be obtained in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness after purifying Togepi, then trading that Togepi to Hordel at the Outskirt Stand for an Elekid. If that Togepi hadn't evolved, it'll have a moveset including moves that would have to be obtained via Breeding. The moveset isn't as good if Togepi evolved into Togetic, however.
Elekid can be found at Secret Storage 6 and 18, Endless Level 2 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.
Elekid appear at Thunderwave Cave 4F & 5F, Lightning Field 15F-22F and Buried Relic 41F-59F in the first set of Mystery Dungeon games. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Elekid appear at Amp Plains 1F-8F. Elekid is exclusive to Light Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Light Summit 1F-10F.
Elekid can be found in Pueltown in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Elekid can be found on the Third Floor of the Wireless Tower in the Present, but Elekid doesn't appear in the Past Missions.
Elekid appear at Firebreathing Mountain Factory 3-3 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.
[edit] Trading Card Game
Elekid is listed as a Common Card in the EX Dragon Frontiers set (Delta Species card); as an Uncommon Card in the EX Sandstorm and Diamond & Pearl sets; and as a Rare Card in the Neo Genesis, Aquapolis, EX Unseen Forces and Triumphant sets.
