Anime/Manga Information

Anime

Fearow has mostly appeared in the wild in the Anime, the most notable wild Fearow was in the episode Pallet Party Panic as the leader of a pack of Spearow that was attacking a flock of Pidgey and Pidgeotto. The Fearow was the same Spearow that Ash had hit with a rock in the pilot episode.

Movies

Fearow was used by another trainer in the first Pokémon movie Mewtwo Strikes Back. Wild Fearow makes appearances in The Power of One, Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, Giratina and the Sky Warrior and Zoroark: Master of Illusions, along with the Pikachu Short Pikachu's Rescue Adventure.

Manga

Red would capture a Fearow that was trying to attack Bill, whom had merged with a Rattata by accident, in Chapter 9.

Prior to the Sevii Islands incident, Professor Oak's Spearow would evolve into a Fearow, appearing in flashbacks in Chapters 282 and 317.

Pokémon Information

Competitive Battling

Fearow finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling. It has decent Speed and Attack Statistics, and is capable of severely damaging Steel-Type and Rock-Type Pokémon with Drill Run, which can become dangerous with the Sniper Ability.

Fearow's sweeping capabilities are hindered because it doesn't have access to Brave Bird, nor does it have much depth in its movepool. Its low Defenses do it little favors, plus it's vulnerable to Stealth Rock. If Fearow doesn't KO its target, there's a good chance that it'll be the one getting KO'd.
