Gastly (ゴース) is the 92nd Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Ghost/Poison-Type, and is known as the Gas Pokémon.

Gastly uses the Levitate Ability, which gives it an immunity to Ground-Type attacks, plus it cannot be trapped by Arena Trap, and ground-based entry hazards won't affect it either.

Gastly gain the opportunity to evolve into Haunter starting at Level 25 and can evolve a second time into Gengar once traded to another game.

Gastly is in the Amorphous Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Gastly 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Gastly appears to be a purple-black black ball which levitates. It has a purple ghostly haze that surrounds it. Gastly has large eyes with tiny, black pupils. It has two fangs that are visable when its mouth is closed.

Gastly can be found at the Pokémon Tower in Red, Blue and Yellow. A little less common in Gold, Silver and Crystal, as Gastly can be found at Sprout Tower, Burnt Tower and Route 31 at Night.

Gastly reprise their original appearance at Pokémon Tower, but also appear at Lost Cave in Fire Red and Leaf Green.

Gastly can be found at Lost Tower and Old Chateau in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, along with Turnback Cave and Eterna Forest at Night. In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Gastly can be found at Bell Tower, Sprout Tower and the Safari Zone's Forest area at night. Gastly also appears on the Pokéwalker courses Dim Cave and Scary Cave.

Gastly can be found at White Forest in Pokémon White, and can also be found at the Dream World location Spooky Manor.

Breeding a Haunter or Gengar is required to obtain a Gastly in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.

Gastly can be found at Buried Relic 9F-14F and Darknight Relic 1F-6F in the first set of Mystery Dungeon games. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Gastly can be found at Dark Hill B1-B15 and Sky Stairway 1F-49F at Random. Gastly is exclusive to Light Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Chocolate Field 11F-19F and Final Cave 14F-17F.

Gastly can be found at the Night Duty Factory in Pokémon Ranger. Gastly inhabits the Ranger School in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Gastly can be found in the Old Mansion's Dining Hallway in the Present, and in the Dark Temple missions "Ground-Shaking Dragon Pokémon" and "Glowing Roads in the Darkness" by defeating it or one of its forms and obtaining its Slate.

Gastly can be found in the Haunted Zone in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure. To obtain, you'll have to complete a Tag Race after opening the top floor.

Gastly can be found at Misty Edgewater Hauntyard 2-2 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

Gastly can be found at Viperia, Avia, Spectra and Nixtorm in Pokémon Conquest.

In The Ghost at Maiden's Peak, a spirit that had taken multiple forms turned out to be a Gastly. Another Wild Gastly appears within Pokémon Tower in The Tower of Terror, and more recently, Ghoul Daze.

Morty would use a Gastly in From Ghost to Ghost, Ash's Gym Battle at Ecruteak Gym. After Ash recalled his Noctowl, this Gastly would defeat Pikachu before losing to Cyndaquil.

Wild Gastly make an appearance in Giratina and the Sky Warrior and the Pikachu Shorts Pikachu's Summer Festival and Pikachu's Ghost Festival.

Koga would use a Gastly for nefarious deeds in Chapters 13 and 14. Agatha would also use Gastly for mischievous ends, except she used two that appeared in Chapters 48, 49, 85 and 90. The "Mask of Ice" would also use a Gastly in Chapters 103, 104, 171 and 172.

Morty uses a Gastly of his own, who appears in Chapters 125, 141, 142, 157, 448, 449, 451 and 452.
