Generation V

As of July 2012, Generation V contains the first two games, Pokémon Black and Pokémon White, and their sequels, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2. With the two sequels, two Kyurem forms, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, were announced, along with Keldeo's Resolution form, and the Sacred Beast forms of Thundurus, Landorus, and Tornadus. Several changes to both the map and the game's characters were also announced, and several Pokémon from past generations can now be caught before the Elite Four.


Generation V Launch


Generation 5 of the Pokémon Franchise was launched in Japan on September 18, 2010 with the release of Pokémon Black and Pokémon White. The two games launched in Europe on March 4, 2011; in North America two days later on March 6; and in Australia four days after the North American release on March 10.

Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2 were released in June 2012 in Japan, and are set to be released on October 7, 2012 in North America and on October 12, 2012 in Europe.

Trading Card Game

New sets of the Pokémon Trading Card Game featuring the new Pokémon from this Generation have also been released, starting with the Black and White sets.


The seventh series of the Anime, titled "Best Wishes," launched to pick up where the Sinnoh Episodes left off as Ash heads to the Unova Region.


In addition to the 13th Pokémon movie Zoroark: Master of Illusions, the two Pokémon featured on the cover of Pokémon Black and Pokémon White (Reshiram and Zekrom) are also featured in the 14th Pokémon Movie, a double feature featuring Victini in each film.
