Gothorita (Unova Pokédex. It is a Psychic Type, and is known as the Manipulate Pokémon.) is the 81st Pokémon in the
Gothorita has the ability Frisk. At the start of a battle, or when Gothorita is brought into the battle, this ability reveals what the foe has for a held item. If no information comes up, then the foe has no held item. A second ability obtainable via the Dream World is an ability called Shadow Tag. With this ability, Gothorita's opponent cannot run or be switched out. The opponent can still switch with other methods such as Baton Pass.
In a new wrinkle to the Shadow Tag ability starting in Generation V, if Pokémon that have Shadow Tag switches out, the opponent remains trapped.
Gothorita is in the Human-Like Egg Group, and its Egg will hatch after approximately 5,120 Steps. It takes Gothorita 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Gothorita takes the appearance of a human child. As the name suggests, Gothorita's appearance is mostly black with the acception of the white bows in its hair and on its body, and the facial features, which appear mostly pink with the exception of the eyes and mouth.
Gothorita doesn't have any distinguished features that make it appear male or female.
Gothorita appears within the Gem Nation in Pokémon Conquest.

Gothorita is listed as an Uncommon Card in the Emerging Powers (2) set, and is also included in the National Beginning Set, which was released in Japan. One of the Gothorita Cards is also listed in the Black/White Promo set.
A trainer named Yuto would use a Gothorita during the two episodes that featured Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus in a three-way battle. The episodes are titled Stopping the Rage of Legends! (Part 1) and Stopping the Rage of Legends! (Part 2).
Another trainer used a Gothorita in both versions of Pokémon Movie 14.
