Gummi, is a consumable item in the entire GBA & DS Mystery Dungeon Saga. They come in a variety of colors, and raise the IQ of the Pokémon who consumed it. Gummies are the only way for a Pokémon to gain passive skills which can be used in the dungeon. Its color shows it's typing. For example, a yellow Gummi is for electric type Pokémon. This does not mean a normal or water type Pokémon may not consume it. But, if a water type were to eat a yellow Gummi, and it is weak to electricity, then it will not gain a lowered amount of IQ. IQ goes into a table of points, which determine when you have reached enough IQ to learn a new move or gain a new star.

  • Matches Pokémon's type 7 (Red and Blue Rescue Teams)

5 (Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky)

  • Strong against Pokémon's type 4
  • Neutral against Pokémon's type 3
  • Weak against Pokémon's type 2
  • Ineffective against Pokémon's type 1

Gummies can also determine when a Pokémon is ready to evolve. Usually, if a Pokémon that usually evolves with friendship in the regular Pokémon game, they will needs at least a 2.5 rank in Iq in order to evolve. With gained IQ also gives you a set of passive skills when in a dungeon. This varies on the skill set a Pokémon has. There are 10 different IQ groups in which decide what IQ skills you obtain.
