Gust is a Flying-Type move introduced in Generation I. Flying-Type attacks were categorized as Physical attacks until Generation IV, when moves were re-categorized into their current classes. As of the Fourth Generation, Gust has been classified as a Special attack.

This attack will do twice as much damage if it is used on an opponent that is using Fly. Additionally, Gust can hit the other side during a Triple Battle.

In the First Generation, despite being listed as a Flying-Type move Gust would do Normal-Type damage, having no effect on Ghost-Type Pokémon as a result.
