In Generation VI, Haxorus finds itself in the Underused (UU) tier of competitive battling. Haxorus finds itself facing stiff competition in the Underused tier from fellow hard-hitting Dragon-type Pokemon like Hydreigon and Tyrantrum. Haxorus does have an advantage over its competition with Swords Dance as a boosting move and a massive 147 attack stat. Haxorus can use a Double Dance set with Swords Dance and Dragon Dance to be able to beat offensive and defensive teams with one or both of the boosting moves, a Choice Band set to hit hard immediately, a Dragon Dance sweeping set, and a Swords Dance set that breaks down defensive teams. Haxorus's main downfall is its unfortunate speed that leaves it outsped by many common threats, such as Hydreigon, Mienshao, and Mega Sceptile. It also has relatively lackluster bulk, making it hard to switch in and easy to revenge kill with a faster threat.
