Heracross (Japanese: ヘラクロス - Herakurosu) is a Pokémon introduced to the series in the Gold and Silver editions of the game. Generally a rare find, it is valued for its great offensive power among many. It is among few Pokémon that has always been a prevalent force in the meta game and even fewer to always improve each passing generation due to various move gains.

Among its pool of destructive moves are Megahorn, Close Combat, Swords Dance, Stone Edge, Night Slash, and Pursuit. It can fit into several roles, most notably as a great user of Choice Band and Choice Scarf. However, due to having fairly average speed, many Pokémon are capable of scaring Heracross out of the battle arena. On the plus side, it has few genuine counters (Gliscor and Weezing being the best).
