Hippopotas (ヒポポタス) is the 122nd Pokémon in the Sinnoh Pokédex. It is a Ground Type, and it is known as the Hippo Pokémon.

Hippopotas uses the Sand Stream Ability. This Ability summons a Sandstorm upon its entry into battle, a condition that shall linger-even if the effects are nullified by the Abilities Air Lock or Cloud Nine-until a different weather-altering move is used. A second Ability is available to Hippopotas from the Dream World, the Sand Force Ability. This Ability increases the power of its Ground, Rock, and Steel Type moves by 33% during a Sandstorm.

Hippopotas gain the opportunity to evolve into a Hippowdon starting at Level 34.

Hippopotas is in the Field Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 7,680 Steps to hatch. It takes Hippopotas 1,250,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.
