Hypno (スリーパー) is the 97th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Psychic-Type, and is known as the Hypnosis Pokémon.

Hypno can use one of two Abilities; Insomnia, which prevents it from being afflicted by the Sleep Status conditon, or Forewarn, which warns the Pokémon of the opponent's strongest move. Its Hidden Ability is Inner Focus, which prevents it from being flinched.

Drowzee gain the opportunity to evolve into Hypno starting from Level 26.

Hypno is in the Human-Like Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 steps to hatch. It takes Hypno 1,000,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Biology

Physiology

Hypno is a yellow Pokemon which is slightly alike to is pre-evolution, Drowzee. It is less hunched over unlike Drowzee, and is also more slim. Instead of being yellow and brown, its mostly yellow. Around its neck is white fur, that may represent a mane. It lost its short trunk look and now has a large nose. Hypno has long pointy ears with the inner coloration being brown. Each foot has three toes and each hand has five fingers. Hypno are known to be holding a pendulum.

Gender Differences

The female Hypno's mane has longer fur than the male's mane.

Original Games

In Pokémon Red and Blue, Hypno can be caught in the wild at Cerulean Cave. In Pokémon Yellow, it can be obtained by evolving a Drowzee. In Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, it can be caught in the wild at Route 11, only being available during the night in Crystal.

In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, Hypno can be caught in the wild at Berry Forest.

In Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, Hypno can be obtained by evolving a Drowzee. In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, it can be caught in the wild at Route 11. It can also be caught in the Swamp area of the Safari Zone during the night. While it can be caught here without the use of blocks, placing down 5 forest objects will yield higher level Hypno.

In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Hypno can be caught in the wild at the Dreamyard through a Swarm.

In Pokémon X and Y, Hypno can be obtained by evolving a Drowzee. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, it can be caught in the wild at Route 121 through the use of the DexNav feature on the PokéNav Plus, after the capture or defeat of Groudon or Kyogre.

In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Hypno can be caught in the wild at Poni Plains.
