Illumise can have one of two Abilities: Oblivious, which prevents infatuation from the attack Attract, the Ability Cute Charm, or the Destiny Knot Held Item activating due to successful usage of the move Attract; or Tinted Lens, which doubles the power of moves that the opponent has a resistance to. Illumise's Hidden Ability is the Prankster Ability. This Ability increases the Speed Priority of all moves that are in the Status Category by 1, working for moves such as Encore and Substitute, for examples.
Illumise does not evolve and does not have a pre-evolved form.
Illumise is in the Egg Groups Bug and Human-Like, and her Egg takes approximately 3,840 Steps to hatch. Her Egg could also hatch as either a Volbeat or an Illumise starting with Generation IV. It takes Illumise approximately 600,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Illumise takes the appearance of a bluish-purple firefly.
Illumise are always female.

Trading Card Game
Illumise appears in a total of six sets. It is listed as a Common Card in the Great Encounters and Triumphant Sets; and is listed as an Uncommon Card in the EX Sandstorm, EX Emerald, EX Delta Species, and XY sets.
Other trainers have used Illumise in the episodes Love At First Flight! and the first two episodes surrounding the Hoenn Grand Festival. Wild Illumise also make a cameo in the episode Time-Warp Heals All Wounds!
Wild Illumise appear in the film Zoroark: Master of Illusions, the lone appearance for Illumise in the movies to date.
Illumise's Manga info is unknown at this time.
Illumise finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling. While it has the same Hidden Ability as her male counterpart Volbeat, she doesn't have access to Tail Glow, keeping her limited to the one and only tier. But what she does have access to shouldn't be underestimated, as she can still afflict an opposing Pokémon with a Status Condition or reduce an opposing Pokémon's Attack or Special Attack before said Pokémon can even attack.
Because Illumise relies so much on Status Attacks, using Taunt against her stops her cold. In addition to a weakness to Stealth Rock, Illumise is rather frail defensively, making an easy target for a Revenge-KO--most attacks that are Super-Effective against her will do the job.
