Jolteon (サンダース) is the 135th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is an Electric-Type, and is known as the Lightning Pokémon.

Jolteon uses the Volt Absorb Ability, which recovers up to 1/4th of its maximum HP when hit with an Electric-Type move. Its Hidden Ability is Quick Feet, which increases its Speed stat by 50% when it is afflicted with a Status Condition.

Eevee gain the opportunity to evolve into Jolteon when exposed to a Thunder Stone.

Jolteon is in the Field Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 8,960 steps to hatch. It takes Jolteon 1,000,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Competitive Battling

Jolteon is a part of the Rarelyused (RU) tier of competitive battling. With a very high base 130 Speed, Jolteon can outspeed the entire RU metagame barring Accelgor. It has a nice base 110 Special Attack that makes it a decent choice for a late-game cleaner and revenge killer. Jolteon's access to Baton Pass in conjunction with moves like Substitute and Wish allow for it to also function as a nice team supporter and great momentum grabber for offensive archetypes. Volt Absorb can block opposing Pokémon's Electric-type attacks, which can be highly useful when up against a Volt Switch user as it kills the opposing team's momentum. Its best set is a SubPass set that acts as a good offensive utility Pokémon due to its ability to heal other offensive Pokémon with Wish or pass them a Substitute. Another viable Jolteon set is an all-out attacker set utilizing either Life Orb or Choice Specs that acts as a strong revenge killer, cleaner, and momentum grabber with Volt Switch. Jolteon's biggest flaws are that it is usually not strong enough to break through specially defensive walls and that it lacks good bulk, which makes it vulnerable to being revenge killed by Choice Scarf users or priority attacks. It also faces competition from Manectric, which has Fire-type coverage in Flamethrower and Overheat, although Jolteon's higher Speed and ability to Baton Pass for teams sets it apart from its Electric-type brethren.
