Kirlia can have one of three abilities: Synchronize, which will send a Poison, Paralysis, or Burn condition that it receives back to its opponent, unless the opponent is immune to said condition; or Trace, which copies the Special Ability of the opponent upon entering battle, unless the battle is a Double Battle, which causes it to receive a random opponent's ability. Its third ability is limited to Kirlia from the Dream World: the Telepathy Ability, which prevents damage from teammates' attacks during Double and Triple Battles; the Pokémon will avoid the moves such as Surf, Earthquake, or Explosion, for examples.
Ralts evolve into a Kirlia starting at Level 20. From here, it can evolve into a Gardevoir starting at Level 30, or if the Kirlia is a Male Kirlia, a Dawn Stone can be used on it to obtain its alternate evolution: Gallade.
Kirlia is in the Amorphous Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Kirlia 1,250,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Kirlia takes on the appearance of a long-haired dancer. Its horns are on opposite sides of its head.
Kirlia doesn't have any distinguishable characteristics to differentiate between male and female.
Kirlia appears at Route 203 and the South end of Route 204 in Diamond and Pearl, but the PokéRadar is the only way to find it in the wild. In Platinum, Kirlia can be found at the North End of Route 212 without needing to use a PokéRadar, but PokéRadar is needed to find Kirlia on Route 209.
Kirlia appears Endless Levels 7 and 9, Forever Level 56 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.
Kirlia appears at Solar Cave 10F-15F in the first Mystery Dungeon game. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Kirlia appears at Treeshroud Forest 10F-20F. Kirlia is exclusive to Light Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Chocolate Field 15F-18F and Final Cave 17F-20F.
Kirlia appears at the Kisara Plains during the Plains Capture Challenge in Pokémon Ranger. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Kirlia appears at the Chroma Ruins. Kirlia also appears in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, appearing at the Daybreak Ruins' Light Room and Main Room in the Present, and in the Dark Temple Mission "Ground-Shaking Dragon Pokémon" in the Past by obtaining its slate and defeating the Boss Pokémon, a Salamence, within the time limit.
Kirlia can be found at Challengers' Ground Tower 1-4 and World Axle Tower B2 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

Kirlia has appeared in 10 different sets, the 6th Movie Halfdeck, the Advance Promos and Pokémon Organized Play Series 7 as an Unommon Card. It is listed as an Uncommon Card in the EX Ruby and Sapphire (2), EX Sandstorm, EX Emerald, EX Delta Species, EX Dragon Frontiers (2; one Delta Speices Kirlia), EX Power Keepers, Secret Wonders, Platinum and Next Destinies sets.
Zoey used a Kirlia in the episode Double-Time battle Training!, in which she won her fifth ribbon (with Snowpoint City Gym Leader Candace in attendance) and had a Double Battle against Dawn.
A Kirlia appeared with Butler in the film Jirachi: Wishmaker, the lone film appearance for a Kirlia to date.
In Pokemon Special: Ruby, the Ralts nicknamed "Ruru" evolved into a Kirlia.
Kirlia is listed in the NFE, or Not Fully Evolved Tier of Competitive Battling as it is a Pokémon that has yet to reach its final evolution.
