Kyurem normally uses the Pressure Ability. When an opposing Pokémon uses an attack regardless of its effect, the PP of that move is reduced by 2 instead of 1. When Kyurem is transformed into Black Kyurem, it uses the Teravolt Ability; when transformed into White Kyurem it uses the Turboblaze Ability. Both Abilities have the same effect, as both Abilities will allow for the moves of the respective user to hit regardless of their opponents' Ability.
Kyurem doesn't evolve and doesn't have a pre-evolved form.
Kyurem takes on the appearance of a dragon with ice-like formations on its head, wings and tail.
Black Kyurem takes on the appearance of a Zekrom with Kyurem's ice growths that appear on its face, left arm, right shoulder, its feet, and a covering on its tail.
White Kyurem takes on the appearance of a Reshiram combined with the icy growths of a Kyurem, which appear on its face, left arm, right shoulder, knees, and feet. A covering appears on its tail, which is similar to the tail covering that appears on Black Kyurem but shaped differently.
Kyurem is genderless.
On February 25, 2012, two new versions of Kyurem were revealed, along with the announcement of two new Generation V Games, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2. The two versions of Kyurem can be viewed at this link, which resemble a cross between Kyurem & Reshiram (White Kyurem), and Kyurem & Zekrom (Black Kyurem).
Both forms retain the Dragon/Ice typing that Kyurem normally uses. To merge Kyurem with either Reshiram and Zekrom, or to un-merge the two Pokémon, use the DNA Link Pin.

Kyurem's competitive tier is in the BL2 (BorderLine 2) tier. Kyurem is very usable in the UnderUsed tier, being one of the most versatile Pokemon in the tier. Its best sets are its strong Choice Specs set that punches holes through the majority of the metagame, a Choice Scarf set that allows it to alleviate its subpar Speed stat, a SubRoost set that can utilize its Pressure ability to PP stall opposing Pokemon, and a Life Orb set that gives Kyurem flexibility in terms of attacking while still having substantial power. Kyurem's downfall in UU is that it is outsped by many major threats in the metagame, such as Mega Aerodactyl, Hydreigon, and Mega Sceptile, and due to its subpar typing, it is vulnerable to getting revenge killed rather easily due to many common weaknesses.
Kyurem is also viable in the Overused (OU) tier of competitive battling. It acts as a strong special attacking wallbreaker with STAB moves that are difficult to switch into, and it is capable of 2HKOing certain bulky Pokémon like Clefable and Ferrothorn. While it faces competition from Kyurem-B as a wallbreaker, its higher Special Attack sets it apart which allows for it to run a Choice Specs set more effectively than Kyurem-B. With good bulk and some nice resistances to Grass, Electric, and Water, Kyurem can effectively check a number of Pokémon like Manaphy, Rotom-W, and Serperior. Kyurem's downfalls lie in its weaknesses to common attacking types like Rock and Fighting, vulnerability to all forms of entry hazards, and Speed stat that while not bad leaves it outsped by a number of common threats.
Kyurem-Black's competitive tier is the OU (Overused) tier. Kyurem-B is in OverUsed for the same reasons it was in the tier last generation, which is a lackluster physical movepool that does not allow for it to utilize its high 170 base attack to its full potential, being outsped by many common threats, and having a mediocre defensive typing that leaves it weak to Stealth Rock and to common attacking types like Fairy, Fighting, and Steel. However, it is a major powerhouse with its mixed attacking prowess and should not be underestimated in the slightest. It's best sets are a Mixed Life Orb set that gives Kyurem-B huge wallbreaking capability, a Choice Band set that makes great use of Kyurem-B's massive base 170 Attack by firing off ridiculously strong Outrages, a Choice Specs attacker that takes advantage of Kyurem-B's well-rounded special movepool to dish out heavy damage with its STABs Draco Meteor and Ice Beam while maintaining good coverage to wallbreak, a Substitute attacker that can set up Substitutes in front of Pokemon like Rotom-W, and a Choice Scarf set that patches up Kyurem-B's average speed stat.
Kyurem-White's competitive tier is the Ubers tier. Unlike Kyurem-B, Kyurem-W has plenty of options to take advantage of its higher attacking stat with its wide special attacking movepool, so it remains banned from OverUsed. Having the strongest Draco Meteor in the game and having some decent resists in Grass, Electric, and Water allows for Kyurem-W to hold its own in the Ubers tier. However, with the Fairy-types being very common in Ubers, Kyurem-W has to be wary of spamming Draco Meteor as threatening sweepers like Xerneas could easily set up on it. It does not have a good speed stat for Ubers, being outsped by common threats like Latios, Latias, and the aforementioned Xerneas. Suffering from many common weaknesses also makes it hard to synergize well with other Uber Pokemon, making it harder to fit on teams. However, despite all these flaws, Kyurem-W is a capable wallbreaker with Choice Specs and is not to be completely disregarded.
Kyurem cannot breed.

Alternate FormesPokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2, two alternate formes of Kyurem were released, appearing as fusions between itself, Reshiram and Zekrom. This could be based on the lore of Unova that Reshiram and Zekrom were once one Dragon, and the remains of the carcass of their former body after they split was that of Kyurem.
