Lampent (ランプラー) is the 114th Pokémon in the Unova Pokédex. It is a Ghost/Fire Type, and it is known as the Lamp Pokémon.

Lampent can have one of two Abilities: Flash Fire, which activates when hit by a Fire-Type move, nullifying the move and its effects, and increasing the power of its own Fire-Type attacks by 50%, or Flame Body, which has a 30% chance of Burning an opponent that uses a physical contact move. A third Ability is available to Lampent that come from the Dream World, the Shadow Tag Ability. This Ability prevents its opponents from switching out or running away, unless the opposing Pokémon uses Baton Pass to switch.

Litwick can evolve into Lampent starting at Level 41, and gain the opportunity to evolve into Chandelure by using a Dusk Stone.

Lampent is in the Amorphous Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Lampent 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Competitive Battling

While Lampent isn't a fully evolved Pokémon, it can make an impact in the Never-Utilized and Rarely-Utilized Tiers. Holding Eviolite can help it survive hits that it wouldn't survive otherwise, and can use its high Special Attack and a good support movepool to disrupt the opposition. However, faster Pokémon with a Super-Effective attack will cause problems for it unless Trick Room is set up.
