Magmortar uses the Flame Body Ability, an Ability that gives a 30% chance of afflicting an opponent that uses an attack that requires physical contact with a Burn, and Flame Body will also cut the number of steps it takes to hatch an egg in half. A second Ability is available to Magmortar from the Dream World, the Vital Spirit Ability. This Ability gives it an immunity to the Sleep Status Condition.
Magmortar is in the Human-Like Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 6,400 Steps to hatch. It takes Magmortar One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Magmortar's red-and-yellow body resembles that of an egg, taking a shape similar to that of Dr. Eggman from the Sonic series in that regard. Its hands can disappear into its wrists, forming a pair of cannons. Flames emit from its head, shoulders and tail.

 Pokémon Information
 Competitive Battling
Magmortar resides in the Neverused (NU) tier of competitive battling. With a high base 125 Special Attack and incredible coverage options in moves like Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, and Earthquake, Magmortar is a potent wallbreaker that stands out as one of the tier’s best attacking threats as it hits a lot of the tier for at least neutral damage. With Vital Spirit, Magmortar can switch in against sleep-inducing moves like Sleep Powder from the likes of Lilligant and Vileplume as well as Jynx’s Lovely Kiss. It has decent special bulk and a typing that allows for it to check Ice, Grass, and Fire attacks. This allows for it to function best as an Assault Vest tank that can act as a great utility check against threats like Lilligant while still doing a sizable chunk of damage against frailer threats. Another Magmortar set is a wallbreaker set with either a Life Orb or Expert Belt to hit brutally hard with a STAB Fire Blast alongside a number of coverage options to hit the majority of the tier hard. Magmortar’s biggest flaws are its average Speed and Defense stats, which leave it vulnerable against the likes of strong physical attacking threats such as Tauros and Kangaskhan. It is also weak to Stealth Rock and is vulnerable to all forms of entry hazards, making it not too difficult to wear down with hazards on the field.
