Mamoswine (マンムー) is the 205th Pokémon in the Sinnoh Pokédex. It is an Ice/Ground Type, and its is known as the Twin Tusk Pokémon.

Mamoswine can have one of two Abilities: Oblivious, which gives it an immunity to becoming infatuated with an opposing Pokémon; or Snow Cloak, which increases its Evasion by one level during a Hailstorm. A third Ability is available to Mamoswine from the Dream World, the Thick Fat Ability. This Ability reduces the amount of damage that it takes from Fire and Ice-type attacks by 50%.

Swinub can evolve into Piloswine at Level 33, and can evolve into Mamoswine if it knows the Attack Ancientpower and Levels up.

Mamoswine is in the Field Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Mamoswine 1,250,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Contents

[edit] Biology

[edit] Physiology

Mamoswine takes on the appearance of a brown mammoth. Unlike Piloswine, Mamoswine's eyes are not obstructed by fur and are open.

[edit] Gender Differences

A Female Mamoswine has shorter tusks than a Male Mamoswine.

[edit] Game Information

[edit] Original Games

In the Generation IV games the only way to obtain a Mamoswine was to evolve a Piloswine.

Mamoswine can be found on the Plains of Giant Chasm in Black, White, Black 2 and White 2.

[edit] Spin-off Games

Mamoswine appears at Crevice Cave B1-B10 & DPB1-B4 and Mt. Avalanche B1-B19 in Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky. Mamoswine is exclusive to Dungeon Blazing Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Weird Mountain 5F-13F.

Mamoswine appears as a Boss in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, appearing inside the Altru Building. Mamoswine does not appear in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs.

Mamoswine can be found at Frozen Tundra Glacier 4-1 in Pokémon Rumble Blast after completing the game.

[edit] Trading Card Game

Mamoswine appears in four sets and the 11th Movie Commemoration Set. It is listed as a Rare Card in the Legends Awakened, Stormfront, Rising Rivals (SP Card: Gym Leader Candice), and Triumphant sets.

[edit] Anime/Manga Information

[edit] Anime

Dawn would obtain a Mamoswine after her Piloswine evolved during the episode A Breed Stampede. Similar to what Ash dealt with after Charizard evolved, Mamoswine wouldn't listen to Dawn, but it would earn the trust of its Trainer after Dawn helped nurse it back to health overnight in the episode Trials and Adulations!.

Since then, Mamoswine has been a force to be reckoned with in Dawn's lineup of Pokémon.

[edit] Movies

A Wild Mamoswine appeared during the film Giratina and the Sky Warrior. Dawn's Mamoswine appeared in the films Arceus and the Jewel of Life and Zoroark: Master of Illusions, along with the Pikachu Shorts Pikachu's Great Sparking Search and Pikachu's Really Mysterious Adventure.

[edit] Manga

Mamoswine's Manga Information is unknown as of writing.

[edit] Pokémon Information

[edit] Competitive Battling

Mamoswine is listed in the Overused (also known as OU) tier. Ice types are very rare in OU, due to their nasty Stealth Rock weakness. But Mamoswine is neutral to Stealth Rock, and also has an amazing priority move in Ice Shard, which is great for revenge-KO'ing, especially with Mamoswine's high Attack Statistic. Even though Mamoswine is not very bulky, and has mediocre speed, the Therians and Dragons have given him a very nice time to shine.
