Mega Audino, the Mega Evolution of Audino activated by using Mega Stone, was revealed by the official Korean Pokémon website, alongside Mega Slowbro. It gains Fairy-typing on top of Normal-type upon evolution.
Mega Audino uses the Healer ability which gives a 30% chance of an allied Pokémon being healed from a status condition.
Audino can Mega Evolve into Mega Audino if it is holding a Audinite.
Mega Audino is a part of the Neverused (NU) tier of competitive battling. With great bulk and a unique typing, Mega Audino is among the bulkiest and best Pokémon in the tier to use. Since there are no other Mega Evolutions in the tier, there is little opportunity cost to using Mega Audino on a team. It is the best user of Wish in the tier, and its pre-Mega ability Regenerator gives it the ability to pivot in and out before Mega Evolving. With a Fairy-typing and being a Mega Evolution, it is the best switch in to Knock Off and Trick in the tier, making it even more useful for a defensive backbone. Its bulk and vast movepool give it numerous options to work with, from being a defensive Calm Mind sweeper, an offensive pivot that can throw opponents off guard, or a mixed defensive pivot that can pass Wishes and provide cleric support in Heal Bell. Mega Audino does have some flaws, though, as it has lackluster offensive power without boosts or investment and its Speed stat is poor. It cannot beat a lot of the Steel and Poison-types in the tier, is crippled by Toxic if it does not run Heal Bell or Rest, and can be set-up bait if it does not run Encore or Toxic.
Mega Audino is also viable in the Rarelyused (RU) tier of competitive battling. With excellent bulk, Mega Audino makes for a prime defensive Calm Mind sweeper that can heal itself sufficiently with Rest and Sleep Talk. It can also run an offensive Mega tank set due to its diverse coverage options in Surf and Fire Blast to compliment Dazzling Gleam. Its access to Healing Wish can be highly useful in healing up a teammate to full health. However, Mega Audino suffers in regards to its lackluster offensive power, which can make it passive especially when regarding the Calm Mind set without any boosts. Taunt can shut down defensive Mega Audino and render it a sitting duck against certain set up sweepers. It also loses a great ability in Regenerator for a useless one in singles formats in Healer.
