Competitive Battling

Mega Banette is in the Rarelyused (RU) tier of competitive battling. With a massive base 165 Attack stat, Mega Banette is an effective physical attacker in RU. It can break down defensive cores with the combination of Will-O-Wisp and powerful attacks in STAB Shadow Claw and Knock Off. Thanks to Prankster, Mega Banette gets priority on non-attacking moves like Will-O-Wisp and Destiny Bond, with the former helping its matchup against many of the tier's Dark-types and the latter giving Mega Banette the opportunity to pick off a faster foe that could potentially overpower it. With other decent offensive moves in Shadow Sneak and Sucker Punch, Mega Banette can wear down at opposing foes and act as a solid revenge killer against a lot of the tier's faster Psychic and Ghost-types, like Sigilyph, Meloetta, and Hoopa. Mega Banette's flaws are that it cannot usually beat the main Rapid Spin user in the tier in Blastoise, which can burn Mega Banette with Scald, making its role as a spinblocker not as effective as other certain Ghost-types. Due to mediocre bulk and Speed stats, Mega Banette can have trouble switching in and Mega Evolving, and since Prankster does not activate on the turn it Mega Evolves, it can be hard to Mega Evolve safely against certain foes.
