Mega Gallade (Mega Evolution of Gallade activated by using Mega Stone, was revealed on September 10, 2014 after a leak of the November Edition of CoroCoro, alongside Mega Camerupt and Mega Sharpedo. It retains its Psychic and Fighting-typings.), the
Gallade can Mega Evolve into Mega Gallade if it is holding a Galladite.
Mega Gallade resides in the Borderline (BL) tier of competitive battling, meaning that it is banned from the Underused (UU) tier but not used enough to be officially a part of the Overused (OU) tier. Thanks to a significant boost in Speed and high Attack stat, Mega Gallade can be a fearsome sweeper in the tier due to an overall expansive movepool that allows for different coverage options to wreck specific defensive walls. Mega Gallade can boost its Attack to sky-high levels with Swords Dance while its respectable bulk allows it to tank a hit and do significant damage to the opposing team. However, Mega Gallade does suffer from being in a crowded Speed tier alongside Gengar, Latios, and Mega Metagross, which can be highly problematic when trying to sweep. Mega Gallade is also extremely hard to switch in before Mega Evolving due to lackluster physical bulk and slow Speed. Mega Gallade is also checked by plenty of prominent Pokémon like Slowbro and Mega Sableye.
