As many changes that a Slowpoke took when evolving into a Slowbro, it takes more drastic changes when becoming Mega Slowbro. The shell that was once a Shellder now covers the majority of Mega Slowbro, leaving its head, legs and tail exposed. There are spikes around the opening of the shell, which represents the teeth of Shellder's shell.
Mega Slowbro has no gender differences.
While Mega Slowbro doesn't appear in X and Y, Mega Slowbro can be obtained in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire by evolving a Slowpoke, then giving the Slowbro a Slowbronite to hold, enabling Mega Evolution.

Mega Slowbro finds itself in the Overused (OU) tier of competitive battling alongside its base form counterpart. While Mega Slowbro is less well equipped to be a solid wall in comparison to Slowbro due to lacking Regenerator, it makes up for that with a massive increase in defense that gives it the ability to invest more heavily in its special defense. With Shell Armor, Mega Slowbro makes a perfect defensive set-up sweeper with Calm Mind and Iron Defense, not being able to be worn down easily with critical hits while handling offensive threats like Keldeo and Talonflame. One can choose to opt for an offensive approach to Mega Slowbro due to its superior defense and special attack in comparison to its base form. The glaring flaws in Mega Slowbro are that it takes up a Mega slot that could be used on another Pokémon and that it is outshined by Slowbro when it comes to a strict defensive role.
Mega Slowbro is also usable in the Uber tier of competitive battling as a defensive wall. With its high 180 Defense and decent typing, Mega Slowbro can act as an answer to Primal Groudon and Ho-oh, two major threats in Ubers. Thanks to a wide movepool that includes Slack Off and Thunder Wave, Mega Slowbro can prevent itself from being too easily worn down and being easy set-up bait for certain offensive threats. Iron Defense can act as a buffer against set-up sweepers and when used in conjunction with Toxic, it allows Mega Slowbro to wear down Pokémon like Extreme Killer Arceus. Despite these positive traits, Mega Slowbro does suffer from having mediocre special defense, lacking Regenerator after Mega evolving, and being susceptible to all forms of entry hazards.
