Mr. Mime () is the 122nd Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Psychic/Fairy-Type, formerly Psychic-Type, and is known as the Barrier Pokémon.
Mr. Mime can use one of two Abilities: Soundproof, which nullifies any Sound-based moves that are used against it; or Filter, which lowers the amount of damage done by Super-Effective moves by 25%. Mr. Mime's Hidden Ability the Technician Ability. This Ability increases the power of its moves that have a base power less than or equal to 60 by 50%.
In the first three Generations Mr. Mime couldn't evolve and didn't have a pre-evolved form, but starting in Generation IV, a Mime Jr. can evolve into Mr. Mime if Mime Jr. knows the move Mimic when leveling up.
Mr. Mime is in the Human-Like Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 6,400 Steps to hatch. A Mime Jr. Egg can also be bred if Mr. Mime is breeding while holding an Odd Incense. This Egg takes approximately 6,400 Steps to hatch. It takes Mr. Mime One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Mr. Mime takes on the appearance of a light-colored, human-like mime. It has a pink spot on its stomach and a pair of pink spots on its cheeks.
Mr. Mime doesn't have any differences to differentiate between male and female.
The only way to obtain a Mr. Mime in Generation I is by way of an In-Game Trade that takes place on Route 2. You'll have to trade an Abra for one in Red and Blue, whereas a Clefairy will have to be traded in Yellow. In Gold, Silver and Crystal, Mr. Mime can be found on Route 24 and can be won by turning in 3,333 Coins to the Celadon Game Corner.
The trade in the first set of Pokémon games is reprised in their Generation III remakes but in a different location, as the trade takes place on Route 3 in Fire Red and Leaf Green, and just like before the trader is requesting an Abra.
Mr. Mime appears on Route 218 in Diamond and Platinum, and Route 222 in Diamond. Mr. Mime can only be obtained by evolving a Mime Jr. In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Mr. Mime appears in the Safari Zone's Forest area during the Morning and Day, and throughout the day by placing 3 Forest Objects in the area.
Mr. Mime appears at Route 20 during a Swarm in Pokémon White 2, and can be found at the Dream World area Spooky Manor.
Mr. Mime appears at Secret Storage 7, Trozei Battle and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.
Mr. Mime appears at Buried Relic 50F-69F and Solar Cave 7F-12F in the first set of Mystery Dungeon games. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Mr. Mime can be found at Mt. Travail 1F-19F and Lost Wilderness B1-B17. Mr. Mime is exclusive to Stormy Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing on the Path to Treasure Mountain B1-B5.

Mr. Mime finds itself in the PU tier of competitive battling. It stands out as an extremely threatening and versatile threat capable of running a Choice Scarf revenge killer set, Nasty Plot sweeper set, and Choice Specs wallbreaker set. It has a unique STAB combination which when coupled with Focus Blast gives it perfect neutral coverage, making it threatening given its solid Special Attack stat. With its dual STABs, it can take out some very common threats like Monferno while having the ability Soundproof to handle Chatot. With a Choice Scarf, Mr. Mime is a very potent revenge killer and the best user of Healing Wish, capable of pulling off a scenario in which it can heal a weakened threat often due to its high Speed. Its Nasty Plot set is a great stallbreaker, as its power and coverage gives defensive teams fits. The Choice Specs set gives Mr. Mime immediate power to work with and can function as a nice Healing Wish user even without the Speed boost from Choice Scarf. However, Mr. Mime is not without flaws, as it has terrible physical bulk that makes it relatively easy to revenge kill and makes it vulnerable to Pursuit. Mr. Mime's Speed, while decent, puts it behind a number of strong attacking threats, such as Dodrio and Floatzel. It has a few common checks in Mawile and Metang which can hinder its effectiveness.
Mr. Mime is also viable in the Neverused (NU) tier of competitive battling. With a secondary Fairy typing and Healing Wish to separate itself from other Psychic-types, Mr. Mime is not a threat to be underestimated. It can hit Steelix very hard with Focus Blast, which a number of Psychic-types like Mesprit cannot do. It can provide a lot of offensive utility thanks to Healing Wish and having two great abilities in Soundproof and Filter, with the former blocking sound based moves like Hyper Voice and Boomburst while the latter lessens the damage of super effective attacks. Mr. Mime does have terrible physical bulk, though, and cannot tank powerful physical attacks. It also is unable to switch into Fighting-types easily that can smack it hard with Knock Off. With a base 90 Speed, Mr. Mime is susceptible to being revenge killed and is outsped by some common threats that can take it out, such as Tauros, Jynx, and Archeops. Mr. Mime faces a lot of competition from other Psychic-types which boast better bulk or Special Attack stats.
