Musharna (ムシャーナ) is the 24th Pokémon in the Unova Pokédex. It is a Psychic-Type, and it is known as the Drowsing Pokémon.

Musharna can have one of two Abilities: Forewarn, which reveals the strongest move that the opposing Pokémon knows regardless of type; or Synchronize, which activates when it gets Poisoned, Paralyzed, or afflicted with a Burn, passing the same Status Condition back to its source.

Musharna's Hidden Ability is the Telepathy Ability. This Ability only works during Double and Triple Battles, but attacks from its teammates won't damage it. While it would normally be available to Musharna that come from the Dream World, a Musharna with Telepathy appears within the Basement of the Dreamyard on Fridays, and a Munna caught in Pokémon Dream Radar also has Telepathy.

Munna can evolve into Musharna when a Moon Stone is used on it.

Musharna is in the Field Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 2,560 Steps to hatch. It takes Musharna 800,000 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Musharna has the appearance of a round-bodied Pokémon that is a cross between a pig and a tapir. The most distinguished feature of a Musharna is its Dream Mist, which it gives off in a pink cloud of mist from its forehead.

Gender Differences

Musharna doesn't have any distinguished features that differentiate between male or female.

Pokémon Information

Competitive Battling

Musharna is listed in the NU tier of competitive battling. It stands out as one of the tier's bulkiest Pokémon, and with relatively reliable recovery in Moonlight, it can wall some of the tier's most feared physical attackers like Tauros and Archeops. Musharna separates itself from Mesprit with its better bulk and reliable recovery that allows for it to function well as a bulky Calm Mind user. Musharna can act as a slow pivot thanks to its access to Baton Pass, which allows for it to be able to send in a teammate safely. Musharna can run various Calm Mind sets, from a standard bulky set up set to a Stored Power Barrier set can give Musharna incredible bulk on both sides at the expense of being walled by Dark-types and having no offensive prowess prior to boosting. Musharna's problems lie in its low Speed stat that makes it dead weight if it is significantly weakened and forces it to recover often. Moonlight only has 8 PP, meaning that Musharna cannot stall out its foes indefinitely. Musharna has a case of four moveslot syndrome, as if it runs a support move like Baton Pass or Barrier, it can be easily walled by Dark-types. It is heavily crippled by Toxic if it does not run Heal Bell, as it can be easily stalled out with the status withering it down.

Musharna is also viable in the Rarelyused (RU) tier of competitive battling. Its Defense and HP stats give it a significant bulk advantage over other bulky Psychic-types as it can take on a number of physical attacking threats. The omnipresence of Fighting-types allows for Musharna to thrive as it can easily take on most of them. With access to Baton Pass and a low Speed stat, Musharna is a nice pivot for teammates as it can safely allow for another Pokémon to switch in. Its access to Thunder Wave is another boon for it, as it can paralyze faster threats and cripple them for the match. However, Musharna faces quite a bit of competition from other bulky Psychic-types like Slowking, Uxie, Bronzong, Mesprit, Sigilyph, and Meloetta, as all have their own perks like typing, utility, and versatility that Musharna cannot boast. Musharna's defensive typing is rather mediocre and its Speed stat is very low, which can make it Taunt and set up bait against bulky attackers that can easily take it on. Its form of recovery in Moonlight has low PP and can be hindered by weather conditions like hail, making it unreliable at times.
