Nidoran ♀ (ニドラン♀) is the 29th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Poison type, and is known as the Poison Pin Pokémon.

Nidoran ♀ can use one of two Abilities: Poison Point, which has a 30% chance of inflicting an opponent with Poison if an opponent uses an attack that requires physical contact against her; or Rivalry, which increases its Attack and Special Attack by two stages if it is battling against another female Pokémon, but reduces these stats by the same two stages should its opponent be of the opposite gender. Its Hidden Ability is Hustle, which increases the power of its physical attacks by 50%, but lowers her accuracy to 80%.

Nidoran ♀ gain the opportunity to evolve into Nidorina starting at Level 16, and can evolve into Nidoqueen once a Moon Stone is used on it.

Nidoran ♀ is in the Monster and Field Egg Groups, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Nidoran ♀ 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Physiology

Nidoran ♀ is a small rodent like Pokémon. Its main coloration is a light blue-grey. It stands on all of her four limbs. It has whiskers and rodent-like teeth. Nidoran ♀ has small eyes with red irises. It has some dark blue patches on some parts of its body. Nidoran ♀ has poisonous spikes that go down its back. It has a small horn on her forehead.

Original Games

Female Nidoran can be found on Route 22 and the Safari Zone in Red and Blue, but are easier to find in Blue. A Female Nidoran can also be traded for on Route 5 in Red and Blue in exchange for a Male Nidoran. In Yellow, Female Nidoran can be found on Routes 2, 9, 10, 22 and the Safari Zone.

Female Nidoran make appearances at Routes 35 and 36 in Gold and Silver, and Route 35 and the National Park in Crystal. In the Generation IV remakes Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Female Nidoran reprise their appearances at Routes 35 and 36, and also make appearances at the Safari Zone's Savannah zone in the Morning & Day hours.

In the Generation III remakes Fire Red and Leaf Green, Female Nidoran can be found at Route 3 and Safari Zone areas 1 and 2. In addition to being easier to find in Leaf Green, Female Nidoran can be found at Area 3 of the Safari Zone in Leaf Green only.

Female Nidoran can be found at Route 201 in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum by using the Poké Radar and are easier to find in Diamond than both Pearl and Platinum.

Female Nidoran can be found at White Forest in Pokémon White, and appear inside a Hidden Grotto on Route 2 in Black 2 and White 2.

In Pokémon X and Y, Nidoran ♀ can be caught in the wild at Route 11 in a Horde.

Female Nidoran make appearances at Endless Level 28, Pair Trozei, Forever Level 28 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.

Female Nidoran can be found at Thunderwave Cave 1F-3F in the first set of Mystery Dungeon games. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Female Nidoran can be found at Mystifying Forest B1-B13 and Mystery Jungle B1-B29; Mystifying Forest is known as Mystic Forest in Explorers of Sky but the floor range is the same. Female Nidoran is exclusive to Blazing Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Dubious Forest 1F-6F and Final Mountain 4F-7F.

Female Nidoran can be found at Shimmering Lake Cave 2-4 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

Anime/Manga Information

Anime

A young trainer named Emily would appear with a Female Nidoran in Wherefore Art Thou, Pokémon?. She would be in the midst of a feud with a neighbor named Ralph, who had a Nidoran M, but Team Rocket's attempt at stealing both Pokémon would unite the two young trainers.

Emily's Nidoran F would evolve into a Nidorina at the conclusion of the episode.

Movies

Wild Nidoran F make appearances in Celebi: Voice of the Forest, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew and Arceus and the Jewel of Life, along with the Pikachu Shorts Pikachu's Vacation and Pikachu's Summer Festival.

Manga

Green would use her own Nidoran F in Chapter 39 to charm the Nidoran M owned by Fisherman Wilton. Nicknamed Nidory by her trainer, she would evolve into a Nidorina prior to appearing in Chapter 73.
