Nidorina (ニドリーナ) is the 30th Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Poison-Type, and is known as the Poison Pin Pokémon.

Nidorina can use one of two Abilities: Poison Point, which has a 30% chance of afflicting an opponent with Poison if it uses a move that requires direct contact against it, or Rivalry, which increases its Offensive Statistics by 25% if the opponent is female, but said Statistics are reduced by 25% if the opponent is male. Its Hidden Ability is Hustle, which increases the damage done by physical moves by 50%, but Accuracy falls to 80%.

Nidoran (F) can evolve into Nidorina at Level 16, and can evolve a second time into Nidoqueen by using a Moon Stone on it.

Nidorina is in the Undiscovered Egg Group and cannot breed. It takes Nidorina 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Biology

Physiology

Nidorina is a small Pokémon who has four limbs. Its body coloration is light blue. It has large ears with the inner coloring a darker blue. It has large spikes on its back that are poisonous, and its tail is a similar shape to the spikes. It has some dark blue patches on her body. Some sharp fangs are visible when its mouth is closed. It has small sharp claws on its arms and the claws on its feet are slightly blunt. Nidorina is able to stand on its hind legs.

Gender Differences

Technically, Nidorina is a female only species. However, Nidorino is the Corresponding male Pokemon to Nidorina. One of the biggest differences between Nidorina and Nidorino is the color difference. Other than this, only small details, such as horns.

Game Information

Original Games

Nidorina can be found at the Safari Zone in Red, Blue and Yellow. Nidorina can also be obtained at the Celadon Game Corner for 1,200 Coins in Red, and on Routes 9 and 23 in Yellow. In Gold, Silver and Crystal Nidorina can be found on Routes 13, 14 and 15.

Nidorina can be found at Safari Zone Area 2 in Fire Red, and Safari Zone Areas 1-3 in Leaf Green.

Nidorina can appear at Route 221 and Valor Lakefront in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum by using the Poké Radar. In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Nidorina can be found on Routes 13, 14, and 15, along with the Safari Zone's Savannah area at Night.

The only way to obtain a Nidorina in White, Black 2 and White 2 is to evolve a Nidoran (F).

In Pokémon X and Y, Nidorina can be caught in the wild at Route 11.

Spin-Off Games

Nidorina make appearances at Endless Levels 58 & 64, Forever Level 8 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.

Nidorina can be found at Lapis Cave 4F-8F, Rock Hole B1-B4 and Wish Cave 47F-50F in the first set of Mystery Dungeon games. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Nidorina can be found at Mt. Bristle 4F-9F and Maze Cave B1-B9. Nidorina is exclusive to Blazing Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Sunset Rockland B10-B15.

Nidorina has yet to appear in any of the Pokémon Ranger games as of writing.

Nidorina can be found at Shimmering Lake Cave 2-4 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

Nidorina is listed in eight sets. She is listed as a Common Card in the Skyridge and Rising Rivals sets, and as an Uncommon Card in the Jungle, Gym Challenge, EX FireRed and LeaffGreen, EX Dragon Frontiers (Delta Species Card), EX Dragon Frontiers, Mysterious Treasures and Triumphant sets.

Anime

A young trainer named Emily would have her Nidoran F evolve into a Nidorina after defeating Team Rocket in Wherefore Art Thou, Pokémon?. Whitney also has her own Nidorina, which made an appearance in A Goldenrod Opportunity.

Movies

Wild Nidorina make appearances in The Power of One, Celebi: Voice of the Forest and Arceus and the Jewel of Life, along with the Pikachu Short Pikachu's Vacation.

Manga

Green's Nidoran F "Nidory" would evolve into a Nidorina prior to her appearance in Chapter 73. Her Nidorina would make subsequent appearances in Chapters 84, 89, 270, 271, 286 and 288.

Crystal would capture a Nidorina for Professor Oak in Chapter 121.
