Nidorino (ニドリーノ) is the 33rd Pokémon in the Pokédex. It is a Poison-Type, and is known as the Poison Point Pokémon.

Nidorino can use one of two Abilities: Poison Point, which has a 30% probability of Poisoning an opponent that uses a move that requires physical contact against it; or Rivalry, which increases his Attack and Special Attack by 25% should the opponent have the same gender, but those same Statistics fall by 25% if the opponent is of the other gender. Its Hidden Ability is Hustle, which increases the damage it does from his Physical moves by 50%, but his Accuracy falls to 80%.

Nidoran ♂ can evolve into Nidorino starting at Level 16, and can evolve into Nidoking if a Moon Stone is used on it.

Nidorino is in the Egg Groups Monster and Field, and his Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Nidorino 1,059,860 Experience Points to reach Level 100.

Biology

Physiology

Nidorina is slightly similar to its pre-evolution, still being purple. It is a lot bigger than before. It has grown stronger legs and instead of rodent-like teeth, he now has sharp teeth that look like fangs. Its horns, spikes and ears has also grown a lot. Its inner coloration for its ears are still teal. Its horn is very strong and it has been said that it is capable of piercing a diamond.

Nidorino is the male of the species. Tts corresponding female partner is Nidorina.

Original Games

Nidorino can be found at the Safari Zone in Red, Blue and Yellow. Nidorino can also be obtained at the Celadon Game Corner by turning over 1,200 Coins in Blue, and Routes 9 & 23 in Yellow. In Gold, Silver and Crystal, Nidorino can be found at Routes 13, 14 & 15.

Nidorino can be found at the Safari Zone in FireRed and LeafGreen, and is easier to find in the wild in FireRed than in LeafGreen.

Nidorino can be found at Route 221 and Valor Lakefront in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum when using the Poké Radar. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, Nidorino can be found at Routes 13, 14, 15, and the Safari Zone's Savannah Zone at night.

The only way to obtain a Nidorino in White, Black 2 and White 2 is to evolve a Nidoran ♂.

In Pokémon X and Y, Nidorino can be caught in the wild at Route 11.

Spin-Off Games

Nidorino makes appearances at Secret Storage 3 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.

Nidorino can be found at Lapis Cave 4F-8F, Rock Hole B1-B4 and Wish Cave 47F-50F in the first set of Mystery Dungeon games. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Nidorino can be found at Mt. Bristle 4F-9F and Maze Cave B1-B9. Nidorino is exclusive to Light Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Chocolate Field 1F-8F.

Nidorino has yet to make an appearance in the Pokémon Ranger series as of writing.

Nidorino can be found at Shimmering Lake Cave 2-4 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

Nidorino is listed in eight sets. He is listed as a Common Card in the Rising Rivals set, and as an Uncommon Card in the Base, Gym Challenge, Aquapolis, EX FireRed and LeafGreen, EX Dragon Frontiers (Delta Species Card), Secret Wonders and Triumphant sets.

Anime/Manga Information

Anime

In a battle that was airing on TV during the pilot episode Pokémon! I Choose You!, in addition to a Nidorino being featured in the opening, the same Nidorino would be put to sleep by a Gengar's Hypnosis, which led to a quick substitution. Ash would face a different trainer's Nidorino with his Squirtle in the episode Fire and Ice. Squirtle would win the battle and the match.

A young trainer named Ralph would have his Nidoran M evolve into a Nidorino in the episode Wherefore Art Thou, Pokémon?.

Movies

Wild Nidorino make appearances in The Power of One, Celebi: Voice of the Forest and Arceus and the Jewel of Life.

Manga

Wild Nidorino make appearances in Chapters 1 and 269.
