Pachirisu (パチリス) is the 55th Pokémon in the Sinnoh Pokédex. It is an Electric-Type, and is known as the EleSquirrel Pokémon.

Pachirisu can use one of two Abilities: Run Away, which allows it to flee from a battle unless the battle is against a Trainer; or Pickup, which gives it a 10% chance of finding and holding onto an item after battle, and in Generation V, users of the Pickup Ability can pick up an opponent's or allies hold item if it was used. A third Ability is available to Pachirisu from the Dream World, the Volt Absorb Ability. This Ability will heal up to 25% of its Maximum HP when it gets hit with an Electric-Type move.

Pachirisu doesn't evolve and doesn't have a pre-evolved form.

Pachirisu is in the Egg Groups Field and Fairy, and its Egg takes approximately 2,560 Steps to hatch. It takes Pachirisu One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.

[edit] Biology

[edit] Physiology

Pachirisu is a Squirrel Pokémon. Its body is white other than multiple light blue areas, such as its ears, a stripe on its head, and a stripe on its very long tail. Pachirisu's tail also has three light blue spikes on the top of it. Pachirisu's main body consists on its very small feet and arms, and a small torso. On its head, there are two yellow areas (similar to Pikachu's.) on its cheeks, and it has black, beady eyes. Pachirisu shares similarities with Pikachu and Emolga; all are rodent-based Electric-Type Pokémon that have pouches on their cheeks that store electricity.

[edit] Gender Differences

On female Pachirisu, the blue stripe on its head is longer than on the males.

[edit] Game Information

[edit] Original Games

Pachirisu can be found at Route 205 and Valley Windworks in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, and at Fuego Ironworks in Diamond and Pearl. In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Pachirisu will appear at the Safari Zone's Wetland area after placing 8 Forest Objects, and the Swamp Area after placing 10 Plains Objects. Both areas do not require any amount of time waiting after placing the respective areas. A Pachirisu can also be sent to Heart Gold and Soul Silver by capturing one on the Pokéwalker course Resort after passing 8000 steps, and the Rally course in the starting group of that area.

Pachirisu can be found within a Hidden Hollow on Route 3 in Black 2 and White 2, and also appear on the Dream World course Pleasant Forest after passing 7,500 Dream Points.

[edit] Spin-Off Games

Pachirisu can be found at Foggy Forest 1F-11F in Explorers of Time and Explorers of Sky; Pachirisu cannot be found in the wild in Explorers of Darkness. Pachirisu is exclusive to Light Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Light Summit 11F-20F and Final Cave 1F-3F.

Pachirisu can be selected as the Starter Pokémon in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, which happens at Vientown Beach. If Pachirisu isn't selected, it will appear at the Ranger School during a Quest, and can be recruited by completing said Quest. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Pachirisu can be found at Dolce Island's Southern Beach, and at the Entrance to Rasp Cavern, Rasp Cavern's Entrance (inside), and Lapras Beach on Renbow Island in the Present. In the past, Pachirisu can be obtained in the Thunder Temple Missions "Are You For Riolu?" and "A Shock Everywhere You Turn" by defeating it and obtaining its Slate.

Pachirisu appear at Firebreathing Mountain Factory 3-3 in Pokémon Rumble Blast.

[edit] Trading Card Game

Pachirisu is listed in the Diamond/Pearl Promo set, Pokémon Organized Play Series 4 as a Rare Card, Pokémon Organized Play Series 9 as an Uncommon Card, and the Melee Pokémon Scramble Mini-set in Japan. Pachirisu is listed as a Common Card in the Supreme Victors set, as an Uncommon Card in the Majestic Dawn set, and as a Rare Card in the Diamond and Pearl, Great Encounters and Call of Legends sets.

[edit] Anime/Manga Information

[edit] Anime

Dawn would capture the same Pachirisu twice in the episode Twice Smitten, Once Shy!. After capturing it the first time, she released it, only to re-capture it. Since then, it has been commonly used in Dawn's Pokémon Contest appearances, including defeating a Gabite that belongs to Ursala in the episode Another One Gabites the Dust.

[edit] Movies

Dawn's Pachirisu makes an appearance in the films The Rise of Darkrai, Giratina and the Sky Warrior, Arceus and the Jewel of Life and Zoroark: Master of Illusions, along with the Pikachu Shorts "Pikachu's Exploration Club," "Pikachu's Great Ice Adventure," "Pikachu's Great Sparking Search" and "Pikachu's Really Mysterious Adventure."

[edit] Manga

Pachirisu's Manga Information is unknown as of writing.

[edit] Pokémon Information

[edit] Competitive Battling

Pachirisu finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling. The best option that it has going for it--including Speed--is access to the move Super Fang, which cuts the HP of its target in half. However, its Defense and Offensive Stats aren't that good, limiting its options as to what it can do effectively.
