- For the regional variant form of this Pokémon, see Persian/Alolan
Persian can use one of two Abilities: Limber, which prevents it from becoming afflicted with Paralysis; or Technician, which gives a 50% power increase to moves that have a base power less than or equal to 60. Its Hidden Ability is Unnerve, which prevents opposing Pokémon from consuming their held Berry whilst it is in battle.
Meowth can evolve into a Persian at Level 28.
Persian is in the Field Egg Group, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch. It takes Persian One Million Experience Points to reach Level 100.
Persian represents big cats, unlike Meowth who represented domestic cats. Persian has a cream colored fur coat, with some black tips on its round-ish ears. It has three long whiskers on both cheek areas. Persian has a red jewel feature on its forehead that Psychic Pokemon commonly have, however Persian has no obvious Psychic abilities. It has four long strong legs and a tail which is like Meowth's but longer and has no brown tip.
Persian has no gender differences.
The only way to obtain a Persian in Blue, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Black 2 and White 2 is to evolve a Meowth, while trading is required to obtain on in Red, Yellow, Gold, Ruby, Sapphire, HeartGold, Black, White, X and Y.
Persian can be found at Secret Storage 19 and Mr. Who's Den in Pokémon Trozei!.
The only way to obtain a Persian in the first set of Mystery Dungeon games is to evolve Meowth. In Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, Persian can be found at The Nightmare B1-B17, Marine Resort B1-B19 and Happy Outlook B1-B19. All three locations have randomized appearances, and Happy Outlook is known as Joy Cape in Explorers of Sky.
Persian is exclusive to Light Adventure Squad in Mystery Dungeon 3, appearing at Light Summit 21-29F, Final Cave 28F-29F, and Legendary Mountains on the following floors: 27, 29-32, 35-41, 44, 46 & 47 and 49.
Persian has yet to make an appearance in the Pokémon Ranger series as of writing.
Persian can be found at Aurora in Pokémon Conquest.
Trading Card Game
Persian is listed in 12 sets and the Wizard's Promos set. Persian is listed as a Common Card in the Versus set; as an Uncommon Card in the Jungle, Team Rocket, Skyridge, EX FireRed and LeafGreen, EX Delta Species, EX Holon Phantoms (Delta Species) and Legends Awakened sets; and as a Rare Card in the Gym Challenge, EX Unseen Forces (EX Card), HeartGold/SoulSilver and Next Destinies sets.
Persian has made some Anime appearances, mostly the Persian owned by Giovanni, the kingpin of Team Rocket, starting with the episode Battle Aboard the St. Anne. Team Rocket's Meowth battled a Wild Persian that it used to be in the same gang with in the episode Go West, Young Meowth.
Super Nerd Miles would use a Persian in Chapters 47, 48, 76 and 15.
A trainer named Saque would use a Female Persian in Chapters 277, 278, 280, 281, 286, 296-298, 412 & 414. She uses the Limber Ability.
Persian finds itself in the Never-Utilized Tier of Competitive Battling. The Classy Cat Pokémon has a high Speed, which gives it a great chance of hitting first bar any priority moves that come into play. Add Nasty Plot to that and Persian can be a tough special sweeper to outpace.
However, Persian's Speed is the only superb Statistic that it has--everything else is considerably lower. Special walls won't have much to fear from a Nasty Plot set, and its other use is as a scout with the Fake Out/U-Turn combination--Pursuit users will put a stop to that.
